  • Patent number: 11961035
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced geographical caching of estimated arrival times. A method may include receiving respective user inputs indicative of respective users being in transit to a destination location from within a geographic region; determining, for the first user and the second user, a first estimated time of arrival from a first geographical area to the destination location, the first geographical area including the first location and the second location; identifying a third location of the first device at a third time, wherein the third location is within the first geographical area; determining that a time-to-live (TTL) of the first estimated time of arrival has not expired at the third time; and refraining from recalculating the first estimated time of arrival.

  • Patent number: 7802563
Abstract: Air/fuel imbalance monitoring systems and methods for monitoring air/fuel ratio imbalance of an internal combustion engine are disclosed. In one embodiment, an oxygen sensor is sampled above cylinder firing frequency and a ratio of data from at least one window over a total number of windows is determined. The approach can be used to indicate imbalances between engine cylinders.

  • Publication number: 20100017545
Abstract: A method for preventing oversubscription to a file storage by multiple processes, whether such processes are operating on one node with directly attached storage or on several nodes of a computing cluster sharing a storage area network. Processes or nodes issue requests for bandwidth reservations to a controller daemon. The controller daemon maintains records of all existing bandwidth reservations and ensures that new reservations are granted only if a qualified bandwidth of the file storage will not be exceeded. The qualified bandwidth is empirically determined to take into account installation specific hardware configurations, workloads, and quality of service requirements.

  • Publication number: 20090241925
Abstract: Air/fuel imbalance monitoring systems and methods for monitoring air/fuel ratio imbalance of an internal combustion engine having a plurality of engine cylinders are provided herein. An example of the method may include routing exhaust gas from a first group of cylinders to an exhaust gas oxygen sensor, and during selected operating conditions, indicating that air/fuel of at least one cylinder in the first group is imbalanced based on a response of the exhaust gas oxygen sensor at frequencies at or above firing frequency of the cylinders in the first group. An example of the system may include an exhaust gas oxygen sensor positioned in such a way that exhaust gas from the group of engine cylinders are routed to the exhaust gas oxygen sensor, and a controller configured to during selected operating conditions, indicate that air/fuel of at least one cylinder in the group is imbalanced based on a response of the exhaust gas oxygen sensor at frequencies at or above firing frequency of the cylinders in the group.

  • Patent number: 5967379
Abstract: A container for dispersing liquid through a dispenser is described. The container has a resealable outlet which has an outlet passageway in a tube and a stop wedged in the passageway to seal the liquid in the container. The passageway is accessible beneath the stop by a dispenser peg for insertion in the tube to push the stop inward toward the interior of the container. A means for containing the stop is adjacent the passageway inlet. The stop reseals the passageway by covering the passageway inlet after a dispenser peg is removed from the passageway.

  • Patent number: 5908143
Abstract: A manually operated dispenser for dispensing single shots of liquid with a built-in extended delay between each manually dispensed shot is described. The dispenser contains a manually operated pump for withdrawing a single shot of liquid from the reservoir of liquid, an outlet through which the pump dispenses the single shot and a reciprocal piston and cylinder assembly on the pump. The piston is ready to dispense the single shot of liquid into the outlet when in a retracted position. A plunger which is biased to move away from the piston manually moves the piston to dispense the shot. A detent is provided for locking the plunger in an outward position. A piston spring is loaded in a manner such that when the piston is moved to a retracted position the detent is disengaged and the relative movement of the piston from the extended position to the retracted position defines a built in extended delay between dispensed shots of liquid.

  • Patent number: 5662256
Abstract: A bicycle rack (10) may be supported by a base (40) on a tow bar of a vehicle. The bicycle rack (10) includes an upright post (11) having at its upper end a pivotally supported arm (12), which is adapted by way of grooves (20) to support a number of bicycles by engagement with the bicycle top tubes. To retain the bicycles in place, a retaining plate (13) is held against the pivot arm (12) by wing nuts applied to threaded fasteners (19) and a padlock which may pass through a hole (22) and a corresponding hole in the pivot arm (12). A gas strut (18) extends between the post (11) and the pivot arm (12) to aid in its pivoting. A number plate support (23) is pivotally attached to the remote end of the pivot arm (12) and connected to the post (11) by a parallelogram linkage to maintain the number plate in a generally vertical plane regardless of the orientation of the pivot arm (12).

  • Patent number: 4977222
Abstract: The cross-linking or curing of thermosetting resins and of hot curable elastomers is carried out by heating the material or the article comprising the resin (or the elastomer) by saturated vapor of the commercial perfluoropolyether having an average boiling point corresponding to the temperature necessary for the cross-linking and having a point range not exceeding 12.degree. C. (measured according to ASTM D 1078) in the presence of a chlorofluorohydrocarbon secondary vapor.
