  • Patent number: 11960415
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a Universal Flash Storage (UFS) system for performing save state switching using selective lanes between a first electronic device and a second electronic device. The method includes: determining, by the first electronic device, whether a data request is received from an application layer of the first electronic device; and performing, by the first electronic device, at least one of: setting a first lane from among a plurality of lanes between the first electronic device and the second electronic device to an active state and the other lanes from among the plurality of lanes to a power save state based on determining that the data request is not received from the application layer of the first electronic device; and setting the plurality of lanes between the first electronic device and the second electronic device to the active state based on determining that the data request is received from the application layer of the first electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20230117858
Abstract: A method and an initiator device for autonomous detection of status of a link between the initiator device and a target device in a Universal Flash Storage (UFS) system. The method includes determining whether an Acknowledgement and Flow Control (AFC) frame for a data frame is received before expiry of a turn-around timer. If the AFC frame is received from the target device 200 before expiry of the turn-around timer, then the method detects the status of the link between the initiator device and the target device as active. If the AFC frame is not received from the target device before expiry of the turn-around timer then, the method detects the status of the link between the initiator device and the target device by restarting the turn-around timer with a second time period.

  • Patent number: 11269524
Abstract: A method disclosed herein includes transferring, by a Universal Flash Storage (UFS) device, data to a UFS host without checking for first credit information at the UFS host on initiating a read command by the UFS host. The first credit information includes information about an available size of a host UFS Interconnect (UIC) Reception (Rx) buffer of a host UIC module. The method includes transferring, by the UFS host, data to the UFS device based on second credit information received from the UFS device on initiating a write command by the UFS host. The second credit information includes information about a size of a device UIC Rx buffer of a device UIC module, wherein the size of the device UIC Rx buffer is associated with a maximum size defined by a UFS system.
