  • Patent number: 7249631
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a wellscreen and a wellscreen that have the mechanical properties of a direct-wrap wellscreen and the precise slot tolerance of a slip-on wellscreen are provided. In one embodiment, a method for manufacturing a wellscreen for use in a wellbore is provided. The method includes disposing a filter subassembly on a base pipe sized so that there is annulus between the base pipe and the filter subassembly. The filter subassembly includes a length of wire wrapped and welded along a plurality of rods so that a slot is defined between adjacent coils of wire. The method further includes expanding the base pipe so that the slot is not substantially altered, thereby substantially reducing or eliminating the annulus.

  • Publication number: 20050096996
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for closing a real estate sale over a computerized network. More particularly, the present invention enables the parties to a pending real estate sale to enter closing instructions into the system via the Internet and provides the means for electronically processing the closing of such sale in accordance with such closing instructions without the need for a human closing agent.

  • Patent number: 6088963
Abstract: A retractable cover for an opening of an automotive bay pit wherein the retractable cover is formed by movable and stackable panels. The panels are normally positioned adjacent one another. Each panel includes supporting and spanning edges. Positioned on the supporting edges are slide rails. The slide rails are slidable in two horizontal directions in tracks of the automotive bay pit. The ends of the slide rails are inclined, and abutting ends of the slide rails of adjacent panels are parallel to one another. Because the abutting ends are parallel, an operator's application of a strictly horizontal force to a panel causes the panel to wedge under or slide over an adjacent panel. Therefore, the operator is not required to apply any vertical lifting force to a panel to create an opening in the cover. The operator may move any panel in the cover and move it in either horizontal direction to create the opening in the cover.

  • Patent number: 4749465
Abstract: A step-dwell transport apparatus and method for use in an in-line controlled environment processing system is disclosed. The transport apparatus employs a plurality of shuttles arranged in series along two parallel rails. Each shuttle carries one or more planar objects through a process chamber, which contains several in-line processing stations. One of the rails guides a queue of abutting shuttles through the process chamber, while the other rail serves as a return path for another queue of abutting shuttles. The shuttles move along each rail, with locomotion along the rail being provided by a pneumatic cylinder and linkage that periodically pushes forward the trailing shuttle in the queue. Transfer mechanisms are provided at each end of the apparatus to transfer individual shuttles from the end of one rail to the beginning of the other rail. Shuttles are supplied to and withdrawn from the process chamber one at a time through in-line air locks.
