  • Patent number: 5680182
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first unit, a second unit and a liquid crystal layer. The first unit has a first substrate, plural first electrodes formed on the first substrate and in parallel, a first nonlinear resistance film having a thickness of about 0.3 to 0.5 .mu.m and located to cover said first substrate and said plural first electrodes, and a first insulating film formed on said first nonlinear resistance film and to have a thickness of about 0.04 to 0.07 .mu.m. The second unit has a second substrate, plural second electrodes formed on the second substrate and located in parallel to each other and to cross the first electrodes at right angles respectively, a second nonlinear resistance film having a thickness of about 0.3 to 0.5 .mu.m and formed to cover said plural second electrodes and said second substrate, and a second insulating film formed on said second nonlinear resistance film and having a thickness of about 0.04 to 0.07 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 5665483
Abstract: A sealed storage battery has a sealing assembly including a hollow rivet mounted to a cover plate via a gasket and a lead piece connecting a positive collector to the hollow rivet. Mounting the hollow rivet to the cover plate is achieved by pressurizing a distal end portion of a hollow shaft of the hollow rivet with a punch having a conical tip end portion so as to caulk the distal end portion of the hollow rivet by enlarging the distal end portion diametrically outward. Tightness between the opposing surfaces of the members among the cover plate, hollow rivet, gasket and lead piece can be enhanced, providing excellent liquid leakage resistance in the battery. A valve body of a safety valve is housed in a positive terminal welded to the head of the hollow rivet.

  • Patent number: 5000537
Abstract: A sleeve for an optical fiber connector and fabricating method therefor for detachably connecting optical fibers mutually by gripping with an elastic restoring force plug ferrules at respective ends of optical fibers in a mutually matched state, the sleeve being made of resilient materials such as phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, high carbon steel and stainless steel, in a tubular form with an approximately C-shaped cross-section having a slit over its entire length, the ferrules being mutually inserted into both ends of the sleeve in an axial direction, wherein the slit is formed along the entire length of the sleeve and the tubular sleeve is formed by a process other than cutting or drilling.
