  • Publication number: 20210284862
Abstract: Provided is a laminate that includes a water absorbing layer (B), an antireflective function-imparting layer (C) and a hydrophilic layer (A) provided in this order on a substrate, wherein the hydrophilic layer (A) is formed of a crosslinked resin having an anionic, cationic or nonionic hydrophilic group, and has a gradient of hydrophilic groups (intensity of hydrophilic group on surface of the hydrophilic layer (A)/intensity of hydrophilic group at ½ of thickness of the hydrophilic layer (A)) of not less than 1.1; the water absorbing layer (B) is formed of a crosslinked resin having a water absorption rate per unit mass (g) of in the range of 5 to 500 wt %; and the refractive index of a layer forming the layer (C) satisfies a specific condition. The laminate can provide higher antifogging properties and antireflective properties.

  • Patent number: 6995276
Abstract: A compound capable of giving optical materials that may be high in both refractive index and Abbe's number and may be excellent in heat resistance and transparency, and a process that may produce the same with good efficiency are disclosed. The compound may be a cyclic disulfide compound including a structure represented by the following general formula (1) or (2) and having a sulfur content of from 50 to 85% by weight: wherein X represents a chain having carbon and/or sulfur as a skeleton, inclusive of cyclic ones; and the number of elements constituting X is from 1 to 4.

  • Patent number: 6706894
Abstract: A thiol compound useful as a starting material for optical materials that have a high refractive index and a high Abbe's number is provided. A method for producing the same is also provided. The thiol compound may be represented by the general formula (1): wherein n is 1 or 2. A method for producing the thiol compound represented by the general formula (1), via an intermediate, i.e., 1,3,5-trithiane having a methylene or vinyl group at the 2,4,6-positions thereof, wherein the groups at the 2-, 4-, and 6-positions may be identical or different, is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6696540
Abstract: An episulfide compound useful as a starting material for optical materials that have a high refractive index and a high Abbe's number is provided. A method for producing the same and an optical product made with the same are also provided. The episulfide compound may be represented by the general formula (1): wherein EP represents and n is an integer of from 0 to 2. A method for producing the episulfide compound represented by the general formula (1) may involve reacting a mercapto group-containing episulfide compound with 2,4,6-trimethylene-1,3,5-trithiane.
