  • Publication number: 20240388265
Abstract: A technology is described for a wide-band radio frequency amplifier using cross-over diplexers. A first port is configured to receive RF signals in a wide-band RF spectrum. A cross-over diplexer splitter is coupled to the first port. The cross-over diplexer splitter is configured to filter the RF signals in the wide-band RF spectrum into a low frequency (LF) signal having an LF pass-band and a high frequency (HF) signal having an HF pass-band with the LF pass-band crossing the HF pass-band at a cross-over frequency. An HF RF amplifier is configured to amplify the HF signal to form an amplified HF signal. An LF RF amplifier configured to amplify the LF signal to form an amplified LF signal. A cross-over diplexer combiner is configured to combine the amplified HF signal and the amplified LF signal and output amplified RF signals in the wide-band RF spectrum.

  • Patent number: 10305432
Abstract: A balanced amplifier can utilize a common mode choke to suppress even harmonics in the signals of the balanced amplifier. The common choke can be coupled between cascaded balanced amplifier pairs to receive the differential output signals from one of the balanced amplifier pairs and to provide conditioned signals to the other of the balanced amplifier pairs. The common mode choke can improve the amplitude and phase balance between the differential output signals by providing increased impedance to the passage of common mode signals such as even harmonics.

  • Patent number: 7394233
Abstract: A modulated power supply comprises a power switching stage having at least one power switching device for generating a power signal in response to an input modulating signal. A current source is positioned in parallel with the power switching stage and continuously generates an output current. An output stage combines the power signal and the output current to form an output power supply signal. The current source supplies some, or all, of the required current at any given time. The switching device in the power switching stage either supplies the remaining required current or sinks any excess current. This has an advantage of reducing the average and peak currents flowing through the switching device, and hence the average power dissipation in the device. The output current can be set at an average (e.g. RMS) value of the current in the output power supply signal.
