  • Patent number: 5257852
Abstract: A damper device for an automatic folding chair enables the seat of the chair to be turned downward to a ready-for use position without being subjected to any braking force when it is lightly pushed down. When the use leaves the seat in the ready-for-use position, it automatically and slowly returns to an upright position under a braking effort exerted thereto.

  • Patent number: 5011029
Abstract: There is provided a lift coat hanger comprising an ingenious damper that can be selectively operated with a view to decelerate the rotary motion of the arm and softly stopping it as it comes to the open or closed position, while the construction of the overall lift coat hanger is made rather simple and hence can be realized at a reduced cost.

  • Patent number: 4938322
Abstract: A damper comprising within a casing filled with viscous fluid a number of movable discs to be moved in response to the transmitted external force and a number of not interlocked fixed discs arranged in an alternative arrangement, wherein both movable and fixed discs are axially deflectable can maintain even clearances between the movable and the fixed discs due to the alignment effect of the discs without undergoing unreasonable stress that can damage the discs. The allowable limit of deflection of the fixed and movable discs can be made adjustable so as to modify the total drag of the damper. Sources of resilient restoring force may be provided to enhance the capability of adjustment. Moreover, the number or the size of the movable and/or the fixed discs can be made alterable to effectively modify the drag of the damper.

  • Patent number: 4727622
Abstract: The hinge is particularly adapted to permit a relatively thick door to be swung open without interference from the surrounding door mounting frame. A pair of arms pivotally connect the door to the frame, with the inner end of one of the arms being mounted on pin means having an axis about which the door rotates. Through the provision of various embodiments of connecting means and guide means, the pin means connecting the inner arm to the body travels in an arcuate, outward path when the door is opened, thereby moving the plane of the entire door outwardly to permit the room necessary to accommodate essentially full opening of the door. The pin means, during its arcuate movement, is guided by various forms of guide means to precisely define the arcuate path of travel.

  • Patent number: 4313239
Abstract: A hinge mounting plate is used for pivotally securing the supporting arm of a door to a supporting arm for a furniture or the like. This hinge mounting plate incorporates a base plate, a control plate, and a hinge supporting arm. The base plate is secured directly to the supporting wall. The control plate is superimposed on the base plate to be slidable in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The hinge supporting arm is formed in an inverted U shape in cross section with a top wall and upper and lower side walls. The hinge mounting plate thus constructed further comprises a longitudinal and lateral control plate superimposed on the surface of the control plate and perforated with a long hole for guiding the control plate, and a lateral control screw pivotally securing both the rear side ends of the longitudinal and lateral control plate and the hinge supporting arm at the front side end of the control plate.
