  • Patent number: 7328127
Abstract: A computer-readable recording medium recording a system performance monitoring program for monitoring performance at desired timing and under desired conditions. A monitoring unit collects and stores status information indicating the operating statuses of servers in a status information memory. When other status information is necessary for evaluating performance, the monitoring unit instructs an access unit to make an appropriate access. The access from the access unit produces desired conditions and the missing status information is created. The monitoring unit collects and stores the created status information in the status information memory. When necessary status information is all stored in the status information memory, the evaluation unit reads the necessary status information to check whether the performance meets a prescribed performance criterion.

  • Publication number: 20070014233
Abstract: The communication availability information between a plurality of transmitters and a plurality of destinations before the communication state between a transmitter and a destinations in a communication network changes from available to unavailable is compared, layer by layer from an upper layer toward a lower layer, with the communication availability information after change, and destinations in paths where the communication state has changed from available to unavailable are grouped. Thus, the communication network is divided into a plurality of affected ranges and an interface of a device located at the border between the affected ranges is deduced as a fault occurrence point.

  • Patent number: 7031895
Abstract: Upon receipt of an end point list, a model setting unit requests the measurement/information collection unit to search a path. The model setting unit receives a path appliance list from the measurement/information collection unit, and generates the configuration of a simulation model of a network. The model setting unit selects an appropriate model for each component of the configuration of the simulation model. Then, the model setting unit sets the parameter value of the model based on the measurement result and the collected information received from the measurement/information collection unit, and automatically generates the simulation model of the network.

  • Publication number: 20050289231
Abstract: A system analysis program which can accurately analyze the operational status of a system without modifying functions of the system for providing services. A message analysis unit analyzes the contents of collected messages, and determines the times of occurrence of the messages, the process types requested by the messages, and whether or not each of the messages is a request message or a response message. In response to an instruction for model generation, a model generation unit generates a transaction model satisfying at least one limiting condition related to caller-called relationships between processes, based on a set of messages selected in accordance with a selection criterion based on the certainty of existence of caller-called relationships. Then, in response to an instruction for analysis, an analysis unit analyzes the processing status of a transaction based on a protocol log conforming to the transaction model.

  • Patent number: 6757255
Abstract: A TCP communications performance measuring device 2 obtains an effective bandwidth (a transfer speed) representing performance in TCP communications, wherein performance indexes or both of a round trip time and a maximum segment size which are obtained based on TCP communications variable-length packets transmitted and received pursuant to a TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) defined as protocol of a transport layer of the OSI Reference model, and any one of an average congestion window size, a packet discard rate and a packet discard event rate. The measuring device 2 therefore includes a packet monitoring unit, a performance index detecting unit 22, a session management unit 23, a session management table 24 and a performance calculating unit 25. The measuring device 2 is capable of measuring the performance in the TCP communications on a communications route of a network without specially transmitting the multiplicity of measurement-oriented packets to the network.

  • Publication number: 20010029545
Abstract: In order to measure the load on a server and perform its allotment with high efficiency, the communication from a client to a server is monitored. The communication data size per connection is measured as the load on the server, the change of the communication data size per connection is detected, the maximum is recorded, and if the communication data size decreases at the time when the maximum is detected, the load on the server is judged to be heavy.
