  • Publication number: 20130104787
Abstract: Clean energy powered surfboard having various advantages that make for easy to learn, easy to use, safe, exciting, high performance, environmentally friendly surfing on any ocean wave in the world. The various embodiments include novel motor, turbine, or electric motor generator surfboards comprising hydrogen or electric-powered motors, which can be switch-activated and which drives jet pumps. Energy can be stored as compressed gas, including air and hydrogen. Energy can be stored in novel capacitors that are incorporated in the body of the surfboard. Energy can be generated by solar or water power while surfing or by passing waves, for example, while waiting for a big wave. An output jet provides thrust to catch a wave, to return to the wave breaks, or to avoid a hazard. A novel fin output jet increase stability and maximizes thrust. Self-contained, self-recharging embodiments are low cost, lightweight, safe, and good for the environment.

  • Publication number: 20130059632
Abstract: A system for indicating to a user a clear shot along a projectile trajectory to a target wherein one of the trajectory path indicators indicates a height of the projectile trajectory at a predetermined intermediate range to the target whereby the user is informed regarding whether or not an obstacle is in the projectile trajectory. The system facilitates accurate, effective, and safe firearm and bow use by providing indications regarding obstacles that are between the shooter and target and which may or may not be in the projectile trajectory. The system may indicate a calibrated aiming point, which is the maximum height of the projectile trajectory. Enhanced rangefinders have digital cameras and high-resolution displays. • Publication number: 20130019375
Abstract: A leg handle with preferably hollow cylindrical sections, is used to aid in lifting a jumping player, especially for lineouts in Rugby. The handles are made of one or more foam sausages attached to a thin stretch fabric sleeve which is placed on the leg of the jumper and when jumping allow for secure grasp by lifters. The simple, reusable, easy to use leg handles provide effectiveness, comfort, convenience, and safety. Leg handles are applied to one or more legs of a jumper and held in place with tape. When the jumper jumps, one or more lifters lift and support the jumper in the jump while the jumper attempts to intercept a ball and safely lower the jumper. Leg handles are embodied with a single sausage; a lower front sausage and a higher back sausage; or a pair of sausages integrated into legs of compression shorts.

  • Patent number: 8290034
Abstract: Methods, medium, and handheld, wireless devices which compress, enhance, encode, transmit, decompress and display digital video images in real time. Real time wireless videoconferences connect multiple handheld video devices. Real time compression is achieved by sub-sampling each frame of a video signal, filtering the pixel values, and encoding. Real time transmission is achieved due to high levels of effective compression. Real time decompression is achieved by decoding and decompressing the encoded data to display high quality images. A receiver can alter various setting including but not limited to the format for the compression, image size, frame rate, brightness and contrast. A zoom control can be used select a portion of interest of video being transmitted or being played back.

  • Patent number: 8282493
Abstract: An improved display provides information regarding a projectile trajectory so that a user is informed whether or not there is a clear shot. Such information facilitates accurate, effective, and safe firearm and bow use by providing indications regarding obstacles that are between the shooter and target and which may or may not be in the projectile trajectory. The improved display provides one or more path indicators shown over the cross hairs. In some embodiments the highest point in the projectile trajectory (being a true aim point) is indicated in relation to the visualized target and possible obstacles. An improved rangefinder device generally includes a range sensor operable to determine a first range to a target, a tilt sensor operable to determine an angle to the target relative to the device, and a computing element, coupled with the range sensor and the tilt sensor, operable to determine an accurate projectile trajectory based on the first range and the determined angle.

  • Patent number: 8181661
Abstract: An easy to use, universal, simple, lightweight, compact, portable, dynamically configurable and modular system of concealment and shelter. An operator configures a number of concealment blinds or shelters using brackets, supports, segmented shafts, covers, curtains, and skirts, and more complex modules. The segmented shafts have both the ability to make an attachment to retain a particular configuration while being able to break down the shafts for transportation or storage. The brackets and supports are used to secure a configuration to a tree, the ground, or a hand held device. Advanced modules include user adjustable domes and cylindrical arches. The system can be configured for placement on a hillside or over rough terrain and obstacles. Multiple modules can be carried by separate members of a group and combined together to form a more complex structure to meet the needs of the group. The system provides a novel star window with independently opening sections.

  • Publication number: 20120112516
Abstract: Seat belt shoulder strap comfort and safety devices provide increased comfort and safety for the user. Embodiments of adjustable clips allow positioning of the clip on the seat belt shoulder strap away from the neck and onto the torso minimizing neck or head injury in an accident or near accident also allowing for focus to be maintained on the road or matters that require attention. Embodiments of two channeled clips provide one channel for the shoulder strap and another channel for the waist strap and are designed to guide the should strap in a comfortable direction while reducing the force on the adjustable clip and the passenger. Embodiments of adjustable clips with locking mechanism are combined with a two channeled clip for optimum safety, comfort, and durability. Some embodiments allow for easy installation and removal or adjustment, which allows the seat belt to be fully retracted and not left dangling.

  • Patent number: 8170095
Abstract: Methods, medium, and machines associated with image processing performance are disclosed. Image data may be copied from input memory to main memory before performing CPU intensive operations, and efficiently copied from memory thereafter. CPU intensive operations may include decryption, decompression, image enhancement, or reformatting. Real time compression may be achieved by sub-sampling each frame. A separate plane compression aspect may provide for distinguishing between regions of an image, separating and/or masking the original image into multiple image planes, and compressing each separated image plane with a compression method that is optimal for its characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20110320413
Abstract: Systems and methods that automatically compare sets of files to determine what has been copied even when sophisticated techniques for hiding or obscuring the copying have been employed. The file compare system comprises a file compare program that uses various operational data and user interface options to detect illicit copying, highlight and align matching lines, and to produced a formatted report. A discovered translations file is used to match translated tokens. Other operation data files specify rules that the file program then uses to improve its results. The generated report contains statistics and full disclosures of the discovered translations used and the other methods used in creating the exhibits. The system includes a bulk compare program that automatically detects likely file pairings and candidates for validation as suspected translations, which can be used on iterative runs.
