    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: pixel electrodes arranged in respective sub-pixels arrayed in a matrix, plural image signal lines extending in a column direction of the matrix, and supplied with image signals, pixel transistors which are switches arranged in the respective sub-pixels, and supply the image signals to the pixel electrodes, and scanning signal lines extending in a row direction of the matrix, and control conduction of the pixel transistors. The pixel electrodes aligned in a direction along which the image signal lines extend are connected to either of two adjacent image signal lines with six sub-pixels as one period. The pixel electrodes corresponding to five of the six sub-pixels are connected to one of the two adjacent ones of the image signal lines, and the pixel electrode corresponding to one sub-pixel is connected to the other of the two adjacent ones of the image signal lines.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes two substrates sandwiching liquid crystals, and first and second electrodes formed in one of the two substrates. The first electrode is one of a pixel electrode and a common electrode. The second electrode is the other of the pixel electrode and the common electrode. The first electrode has, in each pixel, first and second portions extending in a first direction and spaced in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The first portion has two opposite edges inclined to the first direction so that the width of the first portion gradually decreases toward one side in the first direction. The second portion has two opposite edges inclined to the first direction so that the width of the second portion gradually increases toward the one side in the first direction.

    Abstract: Under a normal environment, when red, green and blue displays are to be performed, the displays are performed singly by a red pixel, a green pixel and a blue pixel respectively, and under a high-illuminance environment, when the red display is to be performed, the display is performed by also shining the pixels other than the red pixel simultaneously, when the green display is to be performed, the display is performed by also shining the pixels other than the green pixel simultaneously, and when the blue display is to be performed, the display is performed by also shining the pixels other than the blue pixel simultaneously, thereby increasing the luminance of a screen. In this case, although the chromaticity of each color is lowered, since the luminance works more predominantly on the image quality under the high-illuminance environment than the chromaticity, image quality degradation does not occur.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a touch panel constructed from a single substrate plate and disposed over a liquid crystal display panel. A color filter is disposed over a TFT substrate, and the touch panel is bonded onto the color filter substrate by way of a first adhesion layer. An upper polarizing plate is bonded over the touch panel, and a front window is bonded over the upper polarizing plate via a second adhesion layer. The front window covers a terminal portion which is a portion where only the TFT substrate exists so as to physically protect the portion. Since the upper polarizing plate is disposed over the touch panel, the connection portion of the flexible wiring substrate for the touch panel does not contact with the front window. Thus, the touch panel can be prevented from being strained.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device that is capable of preventing a conductive paste for connecting a common wiring line of a TFT substrate and a counter electrode of a counter substrate from flowing outward. A sealant is formed outside a display region of a liquid crystal display device. A conductive paste for connecting a common wiring line of a TFT substrate and a counter electrode of a counter substrate is provided at a corner of the liquid crystal display device outside the sealant. An L-shaped stopper is formed on the counter substrate so as to prevent the conductive paste from flowing outward. With the stopper, even if the width of a frame is equal to or less than 1.5 mm, it is possible to prevent the conductive paste from flowing outward.
