  • Publication number: 20070115496
Abstract: A recording-medium management system includes a recording-medium management apparatus and a disposal processing apparatus. The recording-medium management apparatus manages pieces of identification information attached to recording media. The disposal processing apparatus disposes of a recording medium when receiving disposal permission from the recording-medium management apparatus based on the identification information. The disposal processing apparatus includes a disposal processing unit, a restricting unit, a reading unit. The disposal processing unit disposes of the recording medium. The restricting unit restricts disposal by the disposal processing unit. The reading unit reads identification information from the recording medium, which is positioned by the restricting unit.

  • Publication number: 20070084932
Abstract: A reading apparatus includes an exposure system, a light receiving system, a decoding section and a determination section. The exposure system applies light to a code image printed on a medium. The light has an infrared wavelength and a visible wavelength. The light receiving system receives infrared light and visible light, which are the light reflected on the medium, to capture the code image with the infrared light and capture the code image with the visible light. The decoding section reads a code from the code image captured with the infrared light. The determination section determines authenticity of the medium based on at least the code image captured with the visible light.

  • Publication number: 20070080249
Abstract: A document management system comprises a document management apparatus that manages a document ID by associating the document ID with a storage time of the document, and checks the storage time in response to an inquiry about a permission of destroying the document and gives a permission of destroying the document when the storage time has expired, and a document destruction apparatus including a mode selection unit that selects one of a first destruction mode and a second destruction mode and an execution unit that destroys the document according to a destruction mode selected by the mode selection unit. The execution unit destroys the document without reading the document ID in the first destruction mode, and reads the document ID to inquire the permission of destroying the and destroys the document when the document management apparatus gives the permission of destroying the document in the second destruction mode.

  • Publication number: 20070057099
Abstract: A recording medium destruction and discarding system for destroying and discarding a recording medium, includes: a registration unit that registers an identification information appended to the recording medium associated with an attribute information of the recording medium; a reading unit that reads the identification information appended to the recording medium; a determination unit that determines whether or not the recording medium may be destroyed and discarded based on the attribute information registered in the registration unit associated with the identification information read by the reading unit; and a destruction and discarding processing unit that performs a destruction and discarding process based on the determination result of the determination unit.

  • Patent number: 6512915
Abstract: A method of outputting a recording medium on which forgery-inhibited data of a certificate of residence, securities, or the like which is obtained through a communication network such as a computer network and is inhibited to be forged by copying is printed directly from a printer without using a copy forgery preventing sheet. A recording medium outputting system of the invention is constructed by connecting a LAN having a DB server managing transmission/reception of data to/from a database disposed in a city office or the like, and a number of LANs each having a terminal and a printer installed in stores such as convenience stores via a communication line and the internet.

  • Publication number: 20020054317
Abstract: An image data outputting apparatus and method form satisfactory images regardless of characteristics of an image forming apparatus by outputting copy forgery preventing image data for preventing copy-based forgery to the image forming apparatus. For example, a recording medium outputting system is constructed by connecting a LAN having a DB server managing transmission/reception of data to/from a database in the city office, and many LANs each having a terminal and a printer installed in a convenience store via a communication line and the Internet. Document data of a certificate is retrieved from the database in the city office by operating a terminal in a store, the retrieved document data is merged with copy forgery preventing image data corresponding to characteristics of a printer in the same store, and the merged data is outputted from the printer.

  • Patent number: 5551618
Abstract: To assure that a plate-shaped brittle material is exactly cut into two plate pieces, a jig having a thread-shaped projection secured thereto in conformity with a predetermined pattern positionally coincident with a cut groove formed in the plate-shaped brittle material, an elastic member located on the cut groove side of the plate-shaped brittle material, and a plate-shaped brittle material to be cut into two plate pieces are placed on a table of a press machine one above another, and subsequently, a predetermined intensity of pressing power is applied to the jig from above by operating a pressing machine. Alternatively, a jig having a thread-shaped projection secured thereto, an elastic member located on the opposite side relative to the cut groove side of the plate-shaped brittle material, and a plate-shaped brittle material to be cut into two plate pieces may be placed on the press table one above another.
