    Abstract: A connecting structure a one rod-shaped member and a counterpart rod-shaped member includes a hollow connecting pipe disposed to straddle contact surfaces with the one member and the counterpart member, and a fixing unit including a bolt with which the connecting pipe is integrated with the one member and the counterpart member. The one member and the counterpart member include upright grooves configured to house the connecting pipe entirely. The upright grooves face each other to dispose the contact surfaces therebetween and extend vertically. The connecting pipe has a side surface provided with a lateral hole configured such that the fixing unit including the bolt is inserted thereinto. The upright grooves extend toward without reaching a lower surface of the one member and a lower surface of the counterpart member. The upright grooves have respective bottoms serving as upward surfaces configured such that the connecting pipe is placed thereon.

    Abstract: A technique to extensively increase the efficiency of the construction of large-size wooden building and to effectively use the loading space when materials for construction are transported fixes a basic hardware on a lateral surface of a longitudinal member with a subsidiary hardware on an end surface of a lateral member. The basic hardware has an upper tapered portion and a lower receiving portion and is affixed to the longitudinal member. The subsidiary hardware is affixed to the lateral member and has a lower tapered portion and an upper receiving portion that engage with the upper tapered portion and the lower receiving portion, respectively, of the basic hardware to join the longitudinal member and the lateral member together.

    Abstract: A new technique is disclosed, according to which it is possible to extensively increase the efficiency of the construction of large-size wooden building, to effectively use the loading space when materials for construction are carried from factories and other places because the extent of projection of hardware from the materials where it is used is far less than in the conventional case. Moreover, when the hardware is connected, a force to pull lateral members toward longitudinal members can be induced.
