  • Patent number: 9191738
Abstract: A sound enhancement technique that uses transfer functions ai,g of sounds that come from each of one or more positions/directions that are assumed to be sound sources arriving at each microphone to obtain a filter for a position that is a target of sound enhancement, where i denotes a direction and g denotes a distance for identifying each of the positions. Each of the transfer functions ai,g is represented by sum of a transmission characteristic of a direct sound that directly arrives from the position determined by the direction i and the distance g and a transmission characteristic of one or more reflected sounds produced by reflection of the direct sound off an reflective object. A filter that corresponds to the position that is the target of sound enhancement is applied to frequency-domain signals transformed from M picked-up sounds picked up with M microphones to obtain a frequency-domain output signal.

  • Patent number: 7716044
Abstract: Upon detecting an utterance period by a state decision part 14, a sound source position detecting part 15 detects the positions of sound sources 91 to 9K are detected by a sound source position detecting part 15, then covariance matrix of acquired signals are calculated by a covariance matrix calculating part 18 in correspondence to the respective sound sources, and stored in a covariance matrix storage part 18 in correspondence to the respective sound sources. The acquired sound level for each sound source is estimated by an acquired sound level estimating part 19 from the stored covariance matrix, and filter coefficients are determined by a filter coefficient calculating part 21 from the estimated acquired sound levels and the covariance matrices, and the filter coefficients are set in filters 121 to 12M.

  • Patent number: 5774562
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for dereverberation provided speech from speaker is received by a first and second channel microphones which are disposed at different locations, and is input to a first and a second channel reverberant speech input terminal. Input signal in each channel is processed by an inverse filter processor, and a dereverberation evaluation part evaluates dereverberation performance on the basis of an output signal from the inverse filter processor and the input signals of respective channels. Subsequently, filter coefficients in the inverse filter processor are determined and updated in accordance with the evaluation so that a result of evaluation is brought closer to an optimum. By repeating this process, an optimum dereverberation is always enabled in a manner following a variation in an in-room impulse response.

  • Patent number: 5391849
Abstract: A disposal or waste apparatus for used or waste injection syringes including a housing with a power transformer, a fan, a deodorant cartridge and a scrap containing box, and a cartridge type electrode plate unit detachably provided to the housing. Cartridge type electrode plate unit has two insertion holes for injection syringes, and two pairs of electrodes separated from each other and cross each other in order to electrically contact with contact terminals of the electrode plates in the housing. The used syringes inserted through the insertion holes respectively come into contact with one pair of electrodes and melt by short circuit current flown between the electrodes and turn on the fan so that any odor gas generated is blown through the deodorant cartridge. The apparatus further includes a switch rod actuated by sliding of said scrap containing box to open a primary winding of said power transformer.
