Publication number: 20140068193Abstract: An address range of an L2 cache is divided into sets of a predetermined number of ways. A RAM-BIST pattern generating unit generates a memory address corresponding to a way, a test pattern, and an expected value with respect to the test pattern. The L2 cache and an XOR circuit write the test pattern to a memory address in accordance with the test pattern, read data from the memory address to which the test pattern is written, and compares the read data with the expected value. A decode unit generates a selection signal for each way of the L2 cache by using a memory address. A determination latch stores, by using a selection signal and in a way corresponding to each memory address, a comparison result with respect to the memory address, a scan-out being performed on the comparison result stored in each of the ways in a predetermined order.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2013Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicants: FUJITSU SEMICONDUCTOR LIMITED, FUJITSU LIMITEDInventors: Hitoshi YAMANAKA, Kenichi GOMI

Patent number: 6202162Abstract: A data-processing system consisting of a portable terminal device and a copying machine can effectively work with protection against breakage of data stored in the terminal device. The data-processing system is constructed to work on the following principle: When a given period is measured by a timer for starting the power saving mode, a portable terminal device provides a copying machine with a signal informing of starting the power-saving mode. The copying machine, which received the power-saving-mode starting signal, provides in later the portable terminal device a signal requiring the terminal to cancel the power-saving-mode. When a given period is measured by a timer for starting the power saving mode, the copying machine provides the portable terminal device with a signal requiring the terminal device to start the power-saving mode. A CPU, which received information on request of power-saving-mode, executes the power saving mode.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1998Date of Patent: March 13, 2001Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Koji Katamoto, Hideo Matsuda, Yoshitaka Honda, Tamotsu Fukushima, Hiranaga Yamamoto, Syoichiro Yoshiura, Kenichi Gomi

Patent number: 5656349Abstract: A magnetic disk has a magnetic layer and a protective layer disposed on the magnetic layer. A multiplicity of lands having sizes within a predetermined range of sizes and generally equal heights within a predetermined range are formed on the surface of the protective layer at a density within a predetermined range. The lands serve to effectively remove contaminants attached to the floating surface of a magnetic head to ensure a desired sliding reliability and floating stability of the head during a long period of time even in the case of a high-density magnetic disk apparatus in which the extent of floating of the head is small. The reliability with which the magnetic disk apparatus operates is thereby improved. The lands are formed on the surface of the protective layer by a process of forming a mask of fine particles on the protective layer surface and etching the protective layer surface through this mask.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1991Date of Patent: August 12, 1997Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kenichi Gomi, Hideaki Tanaka, Hiroyuki Sugimoto, Shoichi Sawahata, Masaki Ohura, Yoshihiko Miyake, Yoshiki Kato, Hiroshi Yashiki, Youichi Inomata, Yoshihiro Moriguchi
