  • Publication number: 20070077104
Abstract: A pressure lever includes an oscillating edge that is capable of contacting a supporting shaft of a pressure roller. An oscillating lever includes a plurality of oscillating edges around a fixed edge. An elastic unit is latched between the fixed edge of the oscillating lever and an immovable portion, and biases the oscillating lever towards one of the rollers. A position of the fixed edge of the oscillating lever is capable of being changed in a state of being deviated from a position before oscillating based on an oscillating position of the oscillating lever separately from an oscillation of the fixed edge.

  • Publication number: 20070014600
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming mechanism to form a toner image on a recording medium according to image data and a fixing mechanism to fix the toner image on the recording medium. The fixing mechanism includes a fixing member and an external heater. The fixing member applies heat to the recording medium having the toner image. The external heater heats the fixing member and is formed in a shape corresponding to a surface of the fixing member. The external heater is disposed as if to engage and yet be spaced apart from the fixing member by a distance which is variable according to movement of the external heater.

  • Patent number: 7112963
Abstract: There is disclosed an NMR measurement method and NMR apparatus in which the temperature of the NMR detection coil or the RF irradiation coil hardly varies if pulsed RF power is applied to the coil during NMR measurements. The apparatus includes the detection coil or the RF irradiation coil, a first RF power application means for applying RF power of a frequency necessary for measurement of NMR signals, a second RF power application means for applying RF power of a frequency not affecting the measurement of NMR signals, and a control means for controlling the two power application means such that the sum of the RF power applied to the coil from the first application means and the RF power applied to the coil from the second application means is kept almost constant.

  • Publication number: 20060175476
Abstract: A stand for a thin display includes a vertical position adjustment mechanism; and a switchover mechanism for switching over between a vertical orientation and a horizontal orientation of a thin display. When the switchover mechanism has rotated the thin display, the vertical position adjustment mechanism has different movement ranges between the vertical orientation and the horizontal orientation. Accordingly, when the thin display is in a vertical orientation, the lower end of the thin display does not hit against a base, which provides a easy and reliable operation even in a vertical orientation or in a horizontal orientation.

  • Patent number: 7070182
Abstract: A sheet separating mechanism includes a separation claw arranged on the surface of a rotatable member such that the separation claw can be rotated around a shaft of the rotatable member with which a claw portion can be brought into slidable contact. A holder rotatably holds the separation claw through the rotating shaft, the holder being rotatably arranged on an attaching portion of the body of the apparatus. A leaf spring elastically holds the holder at a predetermined position when the holder is attached to the attaching portion.

  • Patent number: 7069195
Abstract: A method of designing a small-sized, self-shielding magnetic field gradient coil assembly that is for use in an NMR spectrometer, provides high approximation accuracy, is simple in structure, and has a large inside diameter. The gradient coil assembly consists of tightly wound inner and outer coils. The designing process starts with setting or resetting the number of the inner coils and the number of turns of each inner coil. Their positions are optimized such that the magnetic field gradient strength falls within a tolerable range under shielded condition. Then, the number of the outer coils and the number of turns of each outer coil are set. The Fourier components of a current distribution necessary for the outer coils are calculated.

  • Publication number: 20060029411
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming mechanism and an image fixing unit. The image forming mechanism forms a toner image on a recording sheet. The image fixing unit fixes the toner image onto the recording sheet. The image fixing unit includes a magnetic flux generator, a heat member, a magnetic flux adjuster, and a controlling member. The magnetic flux generator generates a magnetic flux. The heat member is heated inductively by the magnetic flux generated by the magnetic flux generator. The magnetic flux adjuster reduces the magnetic flux active on the heat member to form a heat reduction area in an outer circumferential surface of the heat member in a width direction thereof. The controlling member moves the magnetic flux adjuster to change the heat reduction area.

  • Publication number: 20050224682
Abstract: Disclosed is a display holding device which retains one or more displays in such a way that they move laterally and smoothly. The display holding device, which is installed between at least one display and a supporting body supporting the display, includes (1) a guide mechanism secured to the supporting body, and (2) at least one holding mechanism for transmitting, to the guide mechanism, a moment due to weight of the display, and being secured to the display. In addition, the guide mechanism includes (a) a guide portion spanning laterally, and (b) a stopper placed along the guide portion. The holding mechanism includes (c) a slider mating with the guide portion in a slidable manner, and (d) a contact portion facing the stopper. The stopper blocks the contact portion from being displaced in the direction of the moment, and allows it to be displaced in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 6914430
Abstract: A nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) probe is offered which can minimize positional shift of the detector portion caused by shrinkage of the support post due to cooling of the detector portion. The NMR probe has a vacuum-insulated container and the detector portion described above. The container has a cylindrical portion inserted in a magnet. The detector portion is made up of a detection coil and a tuning and matching circuit that are placed within the container. The detector portion is cooled by a cooling means such that NMR signals are detected with enhanced sensitivity. This probe is characterized in that the detector portion is mounted to the upper end surface or a side surface of the cylindrical portion.
