  • Patent number: 6715919
Abstract: A paper bag with a film inner bag in which the inner bag element is constructed so that its closed end portions can be torn in the lateral direction, thus allowing easy opening by hand across the entire width of the bag or across a part of this width. The inner bag element consists of a synthetic resin film and has cut portions formed along the longitudinal direction in the end portions of the bag that are closed by heat-sealing and that are planned to be opened in the future. The end portion constituting the bottom part is closed by heat-sealing, or by being folded together with the outer bag element or stitched with a sewing machine. The outer bag element, which consists of at least one layer, is formed mainly from craft paper. The synthetic resin film that forms the inner bag element is formed from a thermoplastic resin, and has the property of easy tearing in one axial direction.

  • Patent number: 6247511
Abstract: A rotatable roll is provided under a planing cylinder rotating at a fixed position. A front feed unit and a rear feed unit having an upper and a lower roll for gripping the plate are provided upstream and downstream of the planing cylinder with respect to the feed direction of the plate. A front movable body and a rear movable body having an upper and a lower roll for gripping the plate member are provided between the planing cylinder and the front feed unit and between the planing cylinder and the rear feed unit. The upper and lower rolls of the front and rear movable bodies are forcibly moved up and down. The plate member is supported at three points and deflected downward to prevent floating of the plate during cutting and to prevent the formation of depressions in the plate near its front and rear ends during cutting.

  • Patent number: 6089297
Abstract: An apparatus for and a method of bonding veneers without problems in manufacturing process even if logs, which causes disorder of veneers after dried are used. The veneer bonding apparatus for bonding veneers to each other comprises: a bonding face machining device for machining both end portions of a veneer to be bonded to bonding faces; a bonding agent applying device for applying bonding agent to at least one bonding face of the machined bonding faces; an adjusting device for adjusting a front end bonding face of a succeeding veneer to a rear end bonding face of a preceding veneer such that a face side of the preceding veneer with the applied bonding agent and a backside of the succeeding veneer with the applied bonding agent are flush with each other; and a pressurizing device for pressurizing the adjusted bonding faces to each other.

  • Patent number: 5185050
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting opposed irregularly shaped ends of veneers to produce opposed inclined end faces and for bonding the veneers together at the inclined end faces thereof, has a cutter which cuts an irregularly shaped end of a veneer to produce an end face inclining from an upper edge to a lower edge a little ahead of the upper edge. The apparatus also has an adhesive-material supplying device with outlets from which an adhesive material is projected. The outlets are located substantially directly above, and in immediate proximity to, an inclined front end face of a following veneer on a first support member.

  • Patent number: 4042440
Abstract: A method and apparatus of splicing a train for veneer sheets being fed in a horizontal direction on infeed and outfeed conveyors operated by electric sensors that signal the conveyors to start or to stop at predetermined appropriate times when the preceding and succeeding veneer sheets pass certain predetermined positions, coordinated with application of a strand and beads of a thermoplastic adhesive onto said train of the veneer sheets on conveyors by a cold press. According to this method and apparatus, the splicing of veneer sheets may be achieved with an increased speed and strength of splicing in the transverse direction, in comparison with conventional method and apparatus.
