  • Publication number: 20050090394
Abstract: There is provided a protective layer thermal transfer sheet which can impart an excellent matte tone to an image, produced by a sublimation dye thermal transfer method, without the need to additionally provide any special step and without deteriorating high definition and high sharpness of images inherent in sublimation dye transferred images. There are also provided a protective layer thermal transfer sheet for controlling the gloss of an image, and a matted print produced using the protective layer thermal transfer sheet. The protective layer thermal transfer sheet comprises a substrate sheet and, stacked on at least a part of one side of the substrate sheet in the following order, a release layer, a protective layer and optionally an adhesive layer. The release layer contains a filler and has a roughened surface.

  • Patent number: 6805135
Abstract: A cleaning solution is used to remove a byproduct derived from a decomposed substance of a process gas containing C and F. The cleaning solution contains 75 wt % N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, 15 wt % ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, 0.5 wt % surfactant, and 9.5 wt % water. The content of an alkali metal in the cleaning solution is set to be less than 10 ppb.

  • Patent number: 6737152
Abstract: A protective layer transfer sheet is provided that can form by transfer a protective layer which possesses high weathering resistance and, when formed onto an image, can prevent a dye in the image from being transferred or fused to a vinyl chloride case, can prevent the dye constituting the image being faded upon exposure to light, can additionally impart good fastness to water, alcohols and the like, and thus can impart excellent fastness properties to a print. A print produced by using the protective layer transfer sheet is also provided. The protective layer transfer sheet comprises: a substrate sheet; and a thermally transferable protective layer provided on at least a part of one side of the substrate sheet, the protective layer being formed of a laminate having a multilayer structure comprising at least a layer composed mainly of an acrylic resin and a layer composed mainly of a polyester resin provided in that order on the substrate sheet.

  • Publication number: 20030181331
Abstract: The present invention is first directed to a thermal transfer sheet which is not high in cost for obtaining a substrate, does not involve a problem of blocking or the like at the time of winding after coating of a backside layer onto the substrate, can eliminate the need to provide a release layer on the protective layer region, and further can enhance glossiness of a print with a protective layer. The thermal transfer sheet comprises a substrate, a dye layer of at least one color and a thermally transferable protective layer provided in a face serial manner on one side of the substrate, a protective layer provided on a part of one side of the substrate, an easy-adhesion layer provided on the whole surface of the protective layer and the substrate, the dye layer being provided on the easy-adhesion layer in its region where the protective layer is not located on the underside of the easy-adhesion layer.

  • Patent number: 4864442
Abstract: In magnetic read/write apparatus having a media hub (2) made of magnetic material provided with a magnetic disk (1) and a package so as to cover the magnetic disk with a shell, to position the media hub (2) in the axial direction is performed by attaching an end of a spindle hub (17) to a media hub (2), and to position the media hub in the radial direction is performed by attaching the inner side of a center core (4) integrally formed with the media hub (2) to the periphery of the spindle hub (17). Furthermore, a driving pin (21) for contacting the media hub (2) with the spindle hub (17) is provided at the end of the media hub (2) and in the inner side of the center core (4), thereby, making it possible to provide a small-sized spindle hub and an excellent head contact.
