Abstract: A system for processing a carton includes a unit for supplying articles for printing, a unit for printing the contents of articles supplied from the supplying unit so as to be housed within the carton, including the names or quantity of the articles to be housed within the carton, or the printing pattern, a unit for assembling the article to be printed to a carton shape from its developed state, a unit for loading the articles to be housed within the article to be printed assembled in the carton shape by the assembling unit, a transporting unit for interconnecting the unit for supplying the articles for printing, printing unit, assembling unit, and the loading unit; and a production supervising computer controlling the unit for supplying the articles for printing, printing unit, assembling unit, loading unit and the transporting unit.

Abstract: A container casing for containing recording media, such as tape-shaped or disc-shaped recording media, has an underlying layer, a colored layer and a protective layer. The underlying layer is formed by printing on the outer surface of the main casing member. The colored layer is formed on the underlying layer by color printing based on the picture information. The protective layer is formed on the colored layer for protecting the colored layer. The protective layer has an opening for exposing its partial portion to outside.

Abstract: A method for printing on a recording medium or on a cassette having the recording medium housed herein includes the steps of ejecting the ink by a first ink-jet printing head on the surface of the recording medium or of the cassette having the recording medium housed in it in a direction at right angles to the surface for forming an underlying layer, ejecting the ink by a second ink jet printing head supplied with data based on the printing picture information on the surface in a direction at right angles to the surface for forming a color printing layer on the underlying layer, and ejecting the ink by a third printing head on the printing layer in a direction at right angles to the surface for forming a protective layer.

Abstract: A label which is attached to recording medium cassettes such as tape cassettes and disk cassettes comprises a substrate having a self-adhesive layer on one side thereof and an ink receiving layer on the other side of the substrate. After attachment of the label to at least one surface portion of the cassette, the label is printed with a desired pattern and them formed with a transparent top coat layer on the print surface.
