  • Patent number: 5654042
Abstract: A powder coating system for difficult to handle powders includes a powder hopper containing fluidized powder particles, a pump body connected to the hopper and having an inlet in communication with the hopper, an ejector nozzle mounted to the pump body and aimed at an outlet thereof, a second nozzle mounted to the pump body and aimed at the inlet thereof and a powder application device for receiving powder particles from the outlet of the pump body and spraying them onto an article to be coated. The ejector nozzle sprays pressurized air toward the outlet to transport powder particles along a flow path which extends from the powder hopper into the pump body via the inlet and then out of the pump body via the outlet. The second nozzle sprays air pulses at the inlet in a direction opposite the particle flow along the flow path caused by the ejector nozzle. This spray from the second nozzle creates microvibrations in the inlet of the pump body to eliminate powder particle adherence and cohesion thereat.

  • Patent number: 5564576
Abstract: In either clamping or assembling holes of grooves formed in supports or assembling holes in a support at an interval equal to the mounting pitch of an injection pump, there are arrayed and set either the connecting head portions of a set of bent injection pipes in the vicinity of the backs of mounting nuts, as located at least at the side of the injection pump, or the connecting heads themselves. After this, the injection pipes are fixed and held by retaining means of by fastening mounting nuts assembled on the injection pipes, so that they may be prepared for the storage/transportation.Thus, according to the present invention, the supports can be prevented from coming out or getting lost while they are being stored/transported, and the products can be prevented from being deformed by an external impact or by handling them.

  • Patent number: 5312502
Abstract: A tire fabricating method and apparatus for mounting a component assembly on a drum and applying a pressing force radially inward of the drum to thereby adhere a carcass, a breaker, and a tread constituting the component assembly to one another. Around the component assembly, first and second stitch roller members are arranged at positions adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction. While the drum is rotating, a fluid cylinder is elongated so as to press the first and second stitch roller members against an outer circumferential surface of the tread, and roller elements of the respective stitch roller members are moved away from each other from a center portion of the outer circumferential surface of the tread to opposite ends thereof so as to widen a spacing between the roller elements.

  • Patent number: 5310328
Abstract: A green tire forming apparatus has a driving section (2) and a forming section (1) supported by a shaft extended from the driving section (2). A center former section (10) of the forming section (1) has a pair of first former elements (11A), (11B) and a pair of second former elements (12A), (12B) arranged at the outside of the first former elements so as to be movable in an axial direction. The total width of the center former section can be shortened to about one fourth of the maximum. According to the apparatus, during green carcass formation, the width of the center former section (10) can be set as the required one, and during toroidal shaping, the width can be shortened to about one fourth of the maximum, whereby a distance (BW.sub.3) between beads can be made close to that of a metal mold. As a result, generation of wrinkles during tire formation is largely decreased and tire quality can be improved.

  • Patent number: 5264068
Abstract: Apparatus for forming an annular product features in such arrangement that, around a drum shaft sheathing over a main shaft, tapering structures each having axial slidability are provided, and in response to a slide move of the tapering structure, drum segments are each radially expanded or retracted. A stopper for controlling a slide move of the tapering structure is provided and an axial position of the stopper is regulated by a motor through a ball screw mechanism disposed in the main shaft. Thereby, settings and changes of a circumferential length of the drum which determines the length of the annular product are easily made and can be made with great certainty.

  • Patent number: 5153308
Abstract: Calcitonin derivatives wherein at least one of the first cysteine residue and the seventh cysteine residue is S-sulfonated; processes for the production of the calcitonin derivatives comprising the steps of reacting a calcitonin with a sulfite anion or both a sulfite anion and an oxidizing agent to form the S-sulfonated derivative, and recovering the sulfonated calcitonin derivative; a pharmaceutical composition comprising the S-sulfonated calcitonin derivative; and a method of treating a patient having a disease wherein a decrease of a serum calcium level is desired, by administering the S-sulfonated calcitonin derivative to the patient.

  • Patent number: 4965350
Abstract: Pyridopyrimidine nucleotide derivatives expressed by formula (I), which are fluorescent and capable of forming base pairing with guanine or adenine, and oligo- or polynucleotide which have at least one of these derivatives in their molecules or at their molecular terminals: ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 and X.sub.1 respectively represent ##STR2## (in which n indicates an integer of 0, 1, 2, or 3; however, in no case X.sub.1 and Y.sub.1 both indicate n=O); Z.sub.1 indicates a hydrogen atom or ##STR3## (in which n indicates an integer of 1, 2, or 3); W.sub.1 indicates a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group. As for R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, in case where R.sub.1 is an amino group or halogen, R.sub.2 indicates a single bond between the carbon atom at the 7-position and the nitrogen atom at the 8-position, and in case where R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom or an lower alkyl group, R.sub.1 indicates a carbonyl bond ##STR4## formed with the carbon atom at the 7-position.
