  • Patent number: 6160342
Abstract: In a spark plug (100), the resistor composition constituting a resistor (15) contains semiconductive ceramic particles, offering a superior load life characteristic. Also, the value of (.alpha.2-.alpha.1)/.alpha.1 >=-0.30, where a value of electric resistance between a terminal (13) and a center electrode (3) is .alpha.1 at 20.degree. C. and .alpha.2 at 150.degree. C., so that deterioration of the radio frequency noise prevention performance at high temperatures can be effectively suppressed. The resistor composition contains semiconductive ceramic particles whose temperature coefficient of electric resistance shows a positive value, or a negative value of relatively small absolute value, (e.g., TiO.sub.2 particles having a rutile type crystalline structure, titanate or zirconate of alkali earth metal elements, titanium suboxide, etc.), or titanium metal.

  • Patent number: 6118411
Abstract: A closed loop is formed by loop antenna elements which equivalently function as inductance, a capacitor inserted in such a manner as to divide the loop antenna into the loop antenna elements, and an impedance-matching dividing element for tuning the antenna and establishing matching with a high-frequency circuit side. A subsidiary substrate with the capacitor mounted thereon is fixedly installed by a retaining pawl of an antenna holder, and is connected to the loop antenna elements by being soldered thereto at a pair of lands on the subsidiary substrate. As a result, it is possible to improve the effective gain of the antenna and effectively utilize the substrate space.

  • Patent number: 5934453
Abstract: A center shaft (2a) for holding a key top (1), and springs (2b) are provided in a casing (2) of a small-sized electronic equipment such as an inter-call receiver. The springs (2b) are provided so as to extend from the peripheral portions toward the center shaft (2a), and holes are formed in the springs (2b) respectively. The key top (1) is provided with a stopper nail (1a), first protrusions 1b and second protrusions 1c. The protrusions (1c) of the key top (1) for pushing switches (3) are inserted through the holes of the springs (2b) respectively, and the stopper nail (1a) of the key top (1) is engaged with the center shaft (2a) acting as a fulcrum during the seesawing operation of the key top (1). Thus, the key top (1) is held in a stable manner. The existence of the center shaft (2a) prevents simultaneous depression of the two switches (3).

  • Patent number: 5859491
Abstract: A spark plug for an internal combustion engine. The spark plug includes an insulator coated with glaze in an area extending from a head portion to a trunk portion of the insulator. Preferably, the glaze is prepared from B.sub.2 O.sub.3 --SiO.sub.2 glass containing two or more oxides selected from the group consisting of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, Na.sub.2 O, CaO, ZnO, BaO, Li.sub.2 O and Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3. The glaze is prepared by dry-mixing a plurality of powder materials, melting the resultant mixture in water for vitrification, wet-powdering the resultant vitrification, and adding an organic binder to the resultant powder. The glaze is applied to the insulater and fired at a glost temperature of not more than 1150.degree. C. The Pb content of the glaze is not more than 10 wt. % in terms of PbO. Accordingly, even when a strong electric field is induced at the trunk portion of the insulator, the conversion of Pb to conductive substances is very little or zero.

  • Patent number: 5181260
Abstract: Method for determining and correcting the amount of an skew of image which may be read by an image reader, preferably one with with an automatic paper feeding device. Information dependent on the angle of skew of image is obtained in a plurality of the directions with respect to image data and the amount of skew is determined based on the information obtained. Measurement of the information is performed in two or more stages (or steps). At the first stage, the measurement is performed within a narrow range of angles including a reference direction. If no skew angle is detected in the narrow range, then the measurement is performed again at the second stage in a wider range of angles. If a skew angle is detected in the first stage, the second stage is omitted. With the skew angle determined, the image data is rotated in accordance with the skew angle detected to cancel the skew. No correction of the image data is performed if skew angle detection does not result in either the first or the second stage.
