  • Patent number: 6468613
Abstract: Light metal/CFRP-made structural members which are characterized in that they are structural materials in which a CFRP material is stuck to the surface of a light metal material via an adhesive agent layer of thickness at least 10 &mgr;m and up to 500 &mgr;m, and the volume resistivity of the adhesive agent layer between said metal material and said CFRP material is at least 1×1013 &OHgr;.cm and, furthermore, the adhesive strength at room temperature is at least 15 MPa. In accordance with the present invention, since conventional light metal/CFRP structural materials can be made lighter and, furthermore, since the resistance to galvanic corrosion is outstanding and it is possible to markedly enhance the strength and the impact energy absorption performance, the development of applications and large-scale expansion into new fields becomes possible. Weight reduction and enhancing the durability and reliability of structures also makes a considerable contribution in terms of environmental protection.

  • Patent number: 6306474
Abstract: The present invention relates to a carbon fiber reinforced plastic member provided with high-elongation fiber bundle regions, which are uni-directionally aligned and separately disposed within the plastic member. The plastic member provides a carbon fiber reinforced plastic of lightweight, high strength and high modulus that is safe. Even if it breaks, it shows little scatter of fragments or exposure of dangerous fracture surfaces. Preferably, the high-elongation fiber at break has an elongation exceeding about 10%.

  • Patent number: 5543612
Abstract: An image pickup device providing favorable images which effectively suppress the interference stripe noise originating in the interference stripes created on an image sensor surface of the image pickup device. The image pickup device includes an image sensor 3 and an overlying lid glass 2. By providing a prescribed inclination angle with respect to the relative position of the image sensor 3 and the lid glass 2 protecting it, the same number of interference stripes are provided with respect to each constitutional image-defining element within the image sensor 3, and prevention of interference stripe noise is achieved by leveling the average light intensity each constitutional image-defining element receives so that sensitizing of interference stripe noise does not occur at the specific elements.

  • Patent number: 4985575
Abstract: A process for preparing an optically active tetrahydro-2-furoic acid is disclosed. The process comprises (i) reacting (.+-.)-tetrahydro-2-furoic acid with an optically active amine resolver of the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a lower alkyl group and R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group or ar aryl group, provided that R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are different from each other, thus producing an optically active diastereomer salt, and (ii) decomposing the diastereomer salt. According to the process, a high purity, optically active tetrahydro-2-furoic acid can be prepared at a high yield using an amine resolver. The amine resolver can be recovered at a high yield and high purity.
