  • Patent number: 6855419
Abstract: This invention attempts to provide a method for producing a DNA chip which can be accomplished in simple steps at a low cost, and wherein use of the resulting DNA chip reduces loss of probes and sample substances in the washing step enabling efficient use of such probe and sample. This invention also attempts to provide a DNA chip produced by such method. Accordingly, a method for producing a DNA chip comprising a substrate and a DNA-binding layer formed on the substrate wherein said DNA-binding layer is a diamond like film having a DNA-binding group is provided, and this method comprises the steps of: reducing pressure of a vacuum chamber to a predetermined degree of vacuum; feeding the chamber with a gas which is the source of said diamond like film; feeding the chamber with a gas which is the source of nitrogen; and forming the diamond like film having a DNA-binding group on the substrate by CVD. Also provided is the DNA chip produced by such method.

  • Patent number: 6806613
Abstract: A commutator-integrated armature of a rotary electric machine is comprised of a rotary shaft, an armature core composed of a plurality of laminated sheets, an armature coil composed of a plurality of conductor segments. The conductor segments have in-slot portions respectively inserted into a plurality of slots of the armature core and end portions forming a flat commutator. The armature core has an anchoring portion for anchoring a part of each of the in-slot portions to the armature core more strongly than the rest thereof. The surface of the flat commutator is maintained flat even if the conductor segments repeat thermal expansion and contraction.

  • Publication number: 20030012956
Abstract: This invention provides a polymer thin film which is useful as a substrate for immobilizing a histocompatibility-imparting agent, an immunosuppressive agent, a bioreaction suppressive agent, or the like, and which can be used in imparting biocompatibility; its production method; a binder for a bio chip wherein loss of probe and sample substances in the washing step has been reduced to realize efficient use of such probe and sample; and its production method. In the present invention, the starting material represented by the following structural formula (I) is evaporated and heated to bring the material into monomer form. The material is then introduced into a vacuum deposition chamber maintained at a predetermined degree of vacuum wherein the material is deposited and polymerized on a substrate to obtain the polymer thin film. This polymer thin film is also used in producing the bio chip.

  • Patent number: 6118191
Abstract: An electric rotating machine as disclosed herein includes an armature core having an outer peripheral portion with slots, a rotatable shaft having an outer periphery and rotatably supporting the armature core, a plurality of lower layer coils each having at opposite ends thereof respective lower layer coil protrusion portions, and a plurality of upper layer coils disposed radially outside of the lower layer coils and each having at opposite ends thereof respective upper layer coil protrusion portions. According to the novel method of this invention, the lower layer coil protrusion portions are bonded to the upper layer coil protrusion portions with a welding torch of an arc welding machine by radially moving at least one of the welding torch and boundary portions, at which the corresponding protrusion portions abut one another, relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 6026558
Abstract: An armature for an electric rotating machine has a plurality of outer coil elements and a plurality of inner coil elements. Each of the coil elements has end protrusions extending axially outwardly from an axial side of an armature. The end protrusions facing each other in a radial direction is joined by an arc welding. In one method, the end protrusion of the outer coil element is formed a projection at an axially inside of an axial end of the protrusion. The end protrusions are held spaced apart from each other in the radial direction while contacting only through the projection. The axial ends of the protrusions are welded by swinging the welding arc. In another method, a ring-shaped brazing material is interposed between the end protrusions. The brazing material is melted by the welding arc to weld the end protrusions, while cutting out the brazing material existing between two adjacent pairs of the end protrusions.
