Abstract: A storing unit stores therein contract information indicating, with respect to each of a plurality of devices rented to a user and included in a system, an expiration time point at which a rental contract of each of the plurality of devices expires and communication channel information indicating inter-device communication channels between the plurality of devices. A processing unit determines, based on the contract information and the communication channel information, a second device to experience effect of expiration of the rental contract of a first device at a first time point amongst the plurality of devices, and outputs information indicating the effect on the second device.

Abstract: An apparatus writes a first identifier and a first management-key of a first operating system (OS) to a first storage-area for the first OS, stores a first record including the first identifier and the first management-key in a memory, and rewrites the first management-key of the first storage-area and the first record as a second management-key at a predetermined timing. The apparatus acquires an identifier and a management-key from a second storage-area for a second OS. The apparatus, when the acquired identifier matches the first identifier and the acquired management-key does not match the second management-key, rewrites the identifier in the second storage-area as a second identifier, rewrites the management key in the second storage-area as a third management-key, and stores a second record including the second identifier and the third management-key for the second OS in the memory.

Abstract: An information processing system configured to manage a computer executing a first operating system, the information processing system is configured to receive a request signal that requests information related to software installed on the first operating system, obtain, from the first operating system, a log of a message generated in execution of the software and a first identifier identifying the first operating system, obtain a second identifier for identifying a second operating system on which support target software of a support contract is installed, execute a first determination which determines whether the first identifier and the second identifier coincide with each other, execute a second determination which determines whether the message indicates occurrence of a failure based on the log, and determine whether support for the software is included in a scope of the support contract.

Abstract: A disclosed bandwidth setting method includes: calculating, for each of plural logical ports that are set for a physical network interface card, an amount of traffic of the logical ports, from amounts of output traffic of one or plural virtual machines that use the logical port; and setting, for each of the plural logical ports, bandwidth of the logical port according to the calculated amount of traffic of the logical port.

Abstract: A management method executed by a processor included in an information processing device coupled to a network that includes a plurality of devices, the plurality of devices including a target device in which a control program is to be updated, the management method includes extracting one or more devices from the plurality of devices by determining whether each of the plurality of devices belongs to a predetermined range within the network; determining, for each of the extracted one or more devices, whether a combination of the extracted device with the control program after updating has a problem; and updating the control program for the target device when it is determined that the combination does not have a problem.
