  • Publication number: 20050084909
Abstract: An antigen measuring device has an antibody chip. The antibody chip has a substrate. A pair of gratings are formed on the substrate. An antibody-fixed layer surrounded by a wall is formed between the gratings. A light emitting element emits a light beam toward the first grating. A light receiving element receives the light beam which propagates through the substrate under the antibody-fixed layer and is outputfrom the second grating.

  • Patent number: 6866718
Abstract: A sealant applicator 1 is provided for applying a waterproofing treatment to a wire assembly, a plurality of wires are aligned in a line according to their diameters in a holder 4 provided on a wire laying board 3. Positioning members 21 of a main unit 2 are fitted to the holder 4. A pair of nozzles 22 are opposed to each other at the opposite sides of the aligned wires, and is caused to discharge a specified amount of the sealant by a feeding mechanism 26 while being moved in a wire alignment direction by a moving mechanism 27 and being brought closer to the wires by a relatively moving mechanism 25. This enables a variation of clearances between the wires and the nozzles to be reduced and the sealant to be uniformly applied.

  • Patent number: 6596942
Abstract: The object of the invention is to reduce the number of colors provided on electrical cables wired in a vehicle. The unitary wire harness containing the greatest number of electrical cables is taken as the critical harness. The critical number of different color markings is then determined from the following formula: R=A/B+C/B  (I) wherein A is the number of electrical cables contained in the critical unitary wire harnesses, B is the number of connectors to be engaged with the critical unitary wire harness, and C is the number of terminal receiving elements contained in all of the connectors. The critical number of different cable color markings thus obtained allows the reduction of the number of different cable color markings, and the electrical cables of the same cable color marking can be differentiated when they are connected to a connector.

  • Patent number: 6438828
Abstract: A sealant is applied to electric wires which comprise a wire harness at a location where a portion of this wire harness passes through a narrow diameter cylindrical member 6a of a grommet 6. An outer circumference of this portion to which the sealant has been applied is covered by a sheet 11. Both open ends along a length-wise direction of this sheet are bound by tape 13 and 14, the bound portions of this tape preventing the sealant from escaping to the exterior. In the portion between the tapes, the sealant is forced to permeate into the cross-sectionally central portion of the wire harness. The tapes 13, 14 also act as a positioning aid.

  • Patent number: 6330746
Abstract: A method for determining lengths of electric wires to be used in constructing a wire harness takes into account curvature of the wires as the wires pass through a jig, an extent to which the ends of each wire extend into a connector housing, and a location of the cavity within the connector housing. Thus, the method helps avoid excess wire length exceeding a given tolerance.
