  • Patent number: 8907797
Abstract: A driver monitoring apparatus includes a detection section, a warning section and a changing operation section. The detection section detects at least one of a face direction and an eye direction of the driver, and generates a detection information regarding the at least one of the face direction and the eye direction detected. The warning section determines whether the driver has an inattentive drive by comparing the detection information to a reference information, and generates a warning when it is determined that the driver has the inattentive drive. The changing operation section receives an operation for changing the reference information, and changes a current reference information set before receiving the operation to a new reference information according to the operation received.

  • Patent number: 8319832
Abstract: An input section includes a palm rest and a hand detection sensor on the top surface of a housing. The input section also includes, for example, an analog resistive touch panel above the housing to the front. A palm rest is used as a base for placing a palm for manipulating the touch panel and has a flat surface slightly forward with reference to a horizontal level. The touch panel tilts below the surface of the palm rest. The touch panel is given a tilt angle so that the fingertip or the finger cushion naturally touches the surface (panel surface) of the touch panel when the palm is placed on the palm rest.

  • Patent number: 7835835
Abstract: A vehicle climate control apparatus and method realizing a satisfactory drive feeling and in-compartment comfort, at the same time, by estimating the behavioral intention of the driver at an early time are disclosed. The vehicle climate control apparatus comprises an air-conditioning control unit for controlling the air-conditioning state in the compartments by controlling the air-conditioning device, a driving behavior detection unit for detecting the operation amounts of the driver, an estimation unit for calculating the behavioral intention estimating information for estimating the prospective driving behavior of the driver based on the operation amounts detected by the driving behavior detection unit, and a determining unit for estimating the output state of the power source based on the behavioral intention estimating information and giving an instruction to the air-conditioning control unit in accordance with the estimated output state.

  • Patent number: 7457954
Abstract: In a communications system, a transmitter transmits message data included in communications packets to a receiver. A data region of the communications packet includes an original data region D[n], an authentication data region P[n], and a control region C. The original data region D[n] includes data as a transmission object that is the message data itself or one of the data portions into which the message data is divided so that each of the data portions can be contained in a single packet. The authentication data region P[n] includes authentication information used for substitution detection of the data included in the original data region D[n]. The control region C includes control information. This structure enables the substitution detection to be performed with respect to the respective communications packets into which the message data is divided, resulting in decrease in the substitution detection period.

  • Patent number: 7295136
Abstract: In a communication system, a receiving module provided in a second electronic unit receives first information transmitted from a first electronic unit. A comparing module provided in the second electronic unit compares the received first information with second information previously stored in the second electric unit to determine whether data stored in the first electronic unit is tampered based on the compared result.
