  • Patent number: 9638329
Abstract: In an engine rear seal installed to an engine rear portion having an end plate arranged in a motor exterior side of a housing, and a flywheel arranged in a motor exterior side of the end plate, the engine rear seal has an oil seal and a muddy water preventing seal. The muddy water preventing seal integrally has an attaching portion, and a seal lip directed to a diametrically outer side from the attaching portion and slidably coming into close contact with an end surface in the motor exterior side of the end plate. The seal lip has an inclined lip end back surface portion, and is structured such that a lip end comes into contact with the end surface at the low-speed rotating time and the lip end moves away from the end plate on the basis of an action of a centrifugal force at the high-speed rotating time.

  • Patent number: 8387992
Abstract: To reduce an axial installation width of a sealing device 1 comprising an oil seal 5 mounted in an inner periphery of a shaft hole 3 of a housing 2 and slidably contacted with an outer periphery of a rotating shaft 4 and a magnetic encoder 6 mounted on the rotating shaft 4 so as to be rotated therewith, as well as to improve sealing performance, the oil seal 5 is provided with a metal ring 7 having at least a part thereof disposed at an inner periphery side of the cylindrical portion 10b in the magnetic encoder 6 so that the oil seal 5 and magnetic encoder 6 are overlapped with each other in an axial direction, and the oil seal 5 is provided with a seal lip 8e formed with a rubber-like elastic body and disposed towards an interior side A of a housing.

  • Patent number: 7508193
Abstract: To easily manufacture an encoder, in which N-poles and S-poles of magnets are arranged alternately in a circumferential direction and in which an unequal pitch portion is provided in a part on a circumference, without using a magnetizing head of a special shape having an unequal pitch portion, the unequal pitch portion is formed by arranging the N-poles and the S-poles at an equal pitch all over the circumference and then providing a part on the circumference with a shielding member for shielding a magnetism. Alternatively, the unequal pitch portion is formed by arranging the N-poles and the S-poles at an equal pitch all over the circumference and then providing a part on the circumference with a cut portion.

  • Patent number: 4550486
Abstract: An oil seal mounting jig for mounting an oil seal in a hole formed in the wall of a machine housing, the oil seal being provided on the inner periphery thereof with an annular oil-side tapered surface for contact with the oil to be sealed and an air-side tapered surface having an inclination angle greater than that of the oil-side tapered surface. The oil seal mounting jig has a hollow insertion cylinder opened at its one end and closed at its other end. A hub member for carrying the oil seal is adapted to be slidingly received by the cylinder from the open end of the latter and has an outer peripheral surface of an outside diameter substantially equal to that of a shaft on which the oil seal is to be mounted, one end surface of the hub member having a chamfered portion adapted to abut the oil-side tapered surface of the oil seal.
