  • Patent number: 9234079
Abstract: Provided is a method for producing an aqueous modified polyolefin dispersion composition that is industrially excellent, the method comprising the steps of preparing an aqueous modified polyolefin dispersion that does not contain a surfactant, and then mixing a specific surfactant, whereby foaming can be suppressed during the removal of the organic solvent, and the processing time can be significantly reduced. The method for producing an aqueous modified polyolefin dispersion composition comprises the steps (1) and (2): (1) step 1 of obtaining an aqueous modified polyolefin dispersion using a modified polyolefin, an organic solvent, a base compound, and water as starting materials; and (2) step 2 of mixing a surfactant with the aqueous modified polyolefin dispersion in an amount of 0.1 to 10 wt. % based on the weight of the modified polyolefin.

  • Patent number: 6664324
Abstract: The present invention relates to a resin solution composition for paints or adhesives which comprises an acid-modified butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer obtained by modifying a butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an acid anhydride thereof. The butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer comprises, as polymerizable components, 65 to 85 mol % butene-1 component and 15 to 35 mol % &agr;-olefin component having 2 to 8 carbon atoms other than butene-1 component. The acid-modified butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer comprises the unsaturated carboxylic acid or the anhydride thereof in a proportion of 0.5 to 5% by weight. In this resin solution composition, the acid-modified butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer is dissolved in an organic solvent, in a solid content of 10 to 30% by weight.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a resin solution composition for paints or adhesives which comprises an acid-modified butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer obtained by modifying a butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer with an un-saturated carboxylic acid or an acid anhydride thereof. The butene-1/&agr;-olefin copolymer comprises, as polymerizable components, 65 to 85 mol % butene-1 component and 15 to 35 mol % &agr;-olefin component having 2 to 8 carbon atoms other than butene-1 component. • Patent number: 5821301
Abstract: Disclosed is a modified chlorinated polyolefin resin composition, as well as a method for producing the same, which has adhesion to polyolefin substrates without the need of steam-washing or degreasing the polyolefin surface with chlorine-based organic solvents such as trichloroethane, and which is improved in such properties as interlayer adhesion to base-coats and/or top-coats and gasohol resistance. The modified polyolefin resin composition for polyolefin resin paints comprises: a chlorinated polyolefin having an acid value of 1 to 500 mg.multidot.KOH/g, which is obtained by chlorinating a polyolefin modified with one kind, or more than one kind, of compounds selected from a group consisting of .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acids and/or acid anhydrides thereof in a range of 1 to 50% by weight; and a compound and/or a resin thereof having one epoxy group per molecule represented by the structural formula as described in the specification.
