  • Patent number: 5163938
Abstract: A conductive wire 3 is inserted into a flexible sheath 2 with a wiring portion thereof exposed at a distal end portion of the sheath. Upon the pull of the wire 3, the distal end portion is curved and the exposed wire portion is pull taut to provide a wire portion for incision. A restricting member 5 is provided within the sheath 2 to restrict the direction in which the distal end portion of the sheath 2 is curved. As viewed from the proximal end side to the distal end side of the sheath 2, the wire portion 6 is located within an angle range of 0.degree. to 90.degree. leftwise from the aforementioned direction in a manner to diagonally follow the outer surface of the sheath 2 in a counterclockwise direction to the longitudinal axis of the sheath. An affected region in the body cavity of a human being is incised with a high-frequency current carried through the conductive wire.

  • Patent number: 5152779
Abstract: An operating portion of an forceps instrument having a slider slidably mounted on an operating body; a holding member divided into two parts for holding an end of an operating wire; and a fixing means for fixing the holding member to the slider. No surplus force is exerted on the holding member during its assembly.

  • Patent number: 4946442
Abstract: A structure of a treatment device to be inserted in the channel of an endoscope is disclosed. The treatment device includes a flexible elongated member, a treatment section having a sharp end portion, and a flexible outer tube for receiving the flexible elongated member and the treatment section to be movable forward/backward. A regulating member is mounted on the distal end portion of the outer tube. An abutting portion is formed inside the outer tube adjacent to the proximal end portion of the regulating member. The abutting portion is engaged with a shoulder portion formed on the treatment section in order to regulate the projecting amount of the treatment section. When the outer tube and the elongated member have a bending tendency, the sharp end portion of the treatment section is located on the inner side of the curve in the elongated member.

  • Patent number: 4632110
Abstract: A forceps includes a flexible sheath which is to be inserted into the insertion channel of an endoscope. Sampling cups are fitted to the distal end of the sheath. A control wire is movably inserted into the sheath and connected at one end to the cups. The other end of the control wire is fitted with a control section arranged at the proximal end of the sheath. The control section effects the push and pull of the control wire, thereby opening and closing the cups. That portion of the wire which lies near to the control section is impregnated with a hardening agent to provide a hardened section.
