  • Patent number: 7694522
Abstract: A heat exchange wall include a base plate; a plurality of first protrusions distributedly provided on a surface of the base plate, and a plurality of second protrusions distributedly provided on the base plate surface. The height of the second protrusion in a normal direction of the base plate is desirably less than ½ of a height of the first protrusion in the normal direction. The height of the second protrusion in the normal direction is desirably between 1/20 and ¼ of the height of the first protrusion in the normal direction. More desirably, the height of the second protrusion in the normal direction is 1/10 of the height of the first protrusion in the normal direction.

  • Patent number: 7300251
Abstract: A cooled blade of a small gas turbine engine can enhance cooling performance without increasing the amount of cooling air in a simple configuration. A cooled turbine blade is provided with a cooling passageway 12 formed inside thereof, making the cooling air flow therein. Film-cooling holes 13 penetrate from an inner wall surface 111 to an external wall surface 112 and form a cooling film. An impingement cooling member 2 has a multiple number of small holes 21 ejecting the cooling air. A gap t made by the inner wall surface 111 and the impingement cooling member 2 has a sealing portion 14 mounted thereon which divides the gap in a blade chord direction.

  • Patent number: 6290462
Abstract: A gas turbine cooled blade is constructed without an increase in the number of parts or time requirements, in which seal air is maintained at a lower temperature with the heat exchange rate being suppressed, and the heat transfer rate of the cooling medium in cooling passage is enhanced. A plurality of cooling passages (A, B, C, D, E) is provided in a blade, and the first row cooling passage (A) is covered at the blade inner and outer peripheries and communicates with the second row cooling passage (B) through communication holes (6) and with the main flow gas path through film cooling holes (7). The second row cooling passage (B) communicates with the blade inner peripheral cavity (10) to form a seal air supply passage. A plurality of ribs (31) are disposed on the inner wall of cooling passage (22) with a predetermined pitch (P).

  • Patent number: 6186740
Abstract: In a gas turbine cooling blade, cooling passages are defined by ribs formed therein. The cooling blade comprises an insert fitted in one of the cooling passages at the front edge of the blade, a plurality of nozzles formed in the front face of the insert and used to spray an impact jet of a refrigerant against the inner surface of the front edge of the blade, thereby cooling the inner surface, and a passage formed between the rear face of the insert and the rib and communicating with a rear-side flow.

  • Patent number: 5873695
Abstract: A steam cooled blade operating in a high temperature gas with a high cooling effect on a trailing edge portion has an impingement plate, disposed in the blade lengthwise direction within a trailing edge side cooling passage formed on a trailing edge side of a moving blade. The impingement plate partitions the trailing edge side cooling passage into a convection cooling steam passage, into which steam is introduced, and an impingement cooling steam passage, formed along a trailing edge of the moving blade. The steam cooled blade further has a by-pass passage 14 for joining the steam, after it is used for cooling the moving blade, flowing from a blade tip side of the impingement cooling steam passage with the steam flowing to a leading edge direction of the moving blade from the convection cooling steam passage.
