  • Patent number: 8908650
Abstract: An interface, apparatus, and method are described for communication between a radio control (REC) node and first and second radio equipment (RE) nodes in a radio base station that transceives information over radio interface using multiple antenna carriers. The REC node is separate from and coupled to the first RE node by a first transmission link, and the second RE node coupled to the first RE by a second transmission link. Both control information and user information intended for communication between the REC node and the first RE node and the REC and the second RE node are conveyed over the first transmission link. The first RE node also conveys information between the REC and second RE node. Many advantageous features are described.

  • Patent number: 7483445
Abstract: To enable CPU-to-CPU communication without requiring a special circuit between a baseband signal processing panel and RF signal processing panels, and to allow transmission of reference frame, frame timing and reference clock without requiring other physical interface. According to a W-CDMA base station apparatus of the present invention, in a baseband signal processing panel 110, at least one signal of a CPU-to-CPU communication signal, a frame timing signal, signals indicating frame number and the reference clock are multiplexed into a baseband signal and transmitted to RF panels 1201 to 120n. In the RF panels 1201 to 120n, at least one signal of signals such as the frame-timing signal, CPU-to-CPU communication signal, and the like is multiplexed with a demodulated digital signal and transmitted to the BB panel 110.

  • Publication number: 20070270185
Abstract: A radio base station system includes a processing device for carrying out baseband signal processing and a radio device connected by the CPRI to the processing device for carrying out RF signal processing. The radio device includes a measurement unit for measuring the current state of an object of measurement and supplying measurement data representing this current state as output, and a first communication unit for using Fast C&M Channel fields of the CPRI to transmit the measurement data supplied by the measurement unit to the processing device. The processing device includes a second communication unit that uses Fast C&M Channel fields of the CPRI to receive the measurement data from the first communication unit.

  • Patent number: 7164707
Abstract: A cellular radio communication system, a cellular radio communication method and a rake reception method for raising the efficiency of a baseband, and increasing the freedom of the structure of the radio base station. A cellular radio communication system comprises a baseband and first to Nth transmitter-receicvers connected by a transmission line. The baseband is provided with a modulator for producing, by a digital process, modulation signals to be sent from the first to Nth transmitter-receivers, and a demodulator for demodulating digital modulation signals received and analog-to-digital converted by the first to Nth transmitter-receivers. The transmitter-receiver is provided with a digital-to-analog converter for converting a digital modulation signal to a modulation signal to be sent, and an analog-to-digital converter for converting a received modulation signal to a digital modulation signal.

  • Publication number: 20060217157
Abstract: A baseband signal processing module, baseband equipment, and signal processing methods are provided in which the baseband signal processing module includes a first interface which is configured to be connected to a radio frequency signal processing module, and a second interface and a third interface which are configured to be connected to different baseband signal processing modules. The baseband signal processing module further includes a control module which transmits and receives signals to and from at least one of the radio frequency signal processing module via the first interface and one of the different baseband signal processing modules via the second interface, and which relays, via the third interface, signals which are to be processed by another of the different baseband signal processing modules.

  • Patent number: 6434360
Abstract: A radio communication apparatus transmits signals between an outdoor unit and an indoor unit which are connected to each other through a cable. This apparatus includes a variable level adjustment circuit in the indoor unit. In the apparatus, the fixed level difference of a reception signal due to the installation parameters of a reception system is eliminated, and the reception signal is adjusted to make the reception signal level become equal to a predetermined standard input level.
