  • Publication number: 20240396471
Abstract: A gradationally controlled voltage inverter, which is a power conversion device, controls a gate impedance of a main inverter before a capacitor voltage VDCS of a sub-inverter is controlled at a predetermined voltage so as to be larger than a gate impedance of the main inverter after the capacitor voltage VDCS of the sub-inverter is controlled at the predetermined voltage. This reduces the noise caused by the main inverter when the capacitor voltage VDCS of the sub-inverter is not controlled at the predetermined voltage.

  • Patent number: 8410989
Abstract: An antenna for receiving electromagnetic waves in a desired frequency band, includes a radiating conductor and a ground conductor, a feeder part, a wavelength-shortening section, and a magnetic field applying section. The radiating conductor and a ground conductor resonate at a resonance point frequency. The feeder part is configured to feed the radiating conductor with electricity. The wavelength-shortening section in which a magnetic body having both a dielectric property and a magnetic property is disposed close to the radiating conductor shifts the resonance point frequency into a band lower than the desired frequency band by a wavelength-shortening effect obtained based on the dielectric property and the magnetic property. The magnetic field applying section is configured to apply a magnetic field to the magnetic body so as to reduce a magnetic loss due to the magnetic body.

  • Patent number: 8165485
Abstract: A fixing apparatus includes a heating element with an NTC characteristic in which an electric resistance value decreases as a temperature increases, which extends (i) in a direction parallel to a recording paper and (ii) in a width direction perpendicular to a carrying direction of the recording paper, and which has a longer length, in the width direction, than a width of the recording paper. The fixing apparatus further includes electrode sections provided in close proximity to both ends of the heating element in the width direction), the electrode sections being connected to the heating element, so that a current flows in the heating element in a direction substantially perpendicular to the carrying direction of the recording paper. This makes it possible to restrain excessive increase in temperature at the both ends of the heating element and to obtain a uniform temperature distribution.

  • Patent number: 7945180
Abstract: When an image forming apparatus, after a feeding error of a recording material occurs in a fixing device, re-forms on the recording material an image corresponding to image data which image was formed on a sheet which caused the feeding error, an image forming condition is caused to be different from an operation condition used when the feeding error has occurred. This makes it possible to prevent a JAM corresponding to the same image from recurring in the fixing device.

  • Patent number: 7747206
Abstract: A fixing apparatus includes: a fixing roller and a pressure roller which transport a recording paper while sandwiching the recording paper P therebetween so that an unfixed toner image formed on the recording paper is fixed thereon under heat and pressure; two support rollers; an endless belt which is set over the support rollers and comes into contact with a surface of the fixing roller; and heater lamps which are provided respectively inside the support rollers. A fixing apparatus satisfies a relationship indicated by (C2+C3)/C1?2 where C1 is a heat capacity of each of the heater lamps, C2 is a heat capacity of each of the support rollers, and C3 is a heat capacity of the endless belt in each of areas where the endless belt is in contact with the support rollers. This realizes an external belt heat fixing apparatus which suppresses (a) heat damage to the endless belt and the surface of the fixing member and (b) unevenness of an image.

  • Patent number: 7684746
Abstract: Support rollers suspending an endless belt are arranged so that a distance between each support roller and a fixing roller is smaller than a height of a belt regulating member provided on each side of the support roller in moving the support rollers to the second position which allows the endless belt to be in contact with the fixing roller so that a contact area therebetween is smaller than in the first position. As a result, in a fixing apparatus which includes the regulating member for regulating a position of an external heating belt in a rotational axis direction so that a contact area size between the external heating belt and the fixing member is variable, it is possible to appropriately vary the contact area between the belt and the fixing material.
