Abstract: A digital MFP carries out an authentication of an operator by a user ID and a password prior to usage of the digital MFP. The digital MFP requests from the operator an instruction as to whether or not to store the successfully authenticated user ID and password in a flash memory along with a generated abbreviated code. When the operator instructs to store, the successfully authenticated user ID and the password are stored in the flash memory along with the generated abbreviated code. The digital MFP retrieves from the flash memory the user ID and the password that form a pair with the abbreviated code entered by the operator using the operation unit, and acquires authentication success or failure information with respect to the retrieved user ID and the password from an authentication server.

Abstract: An authentication unit of a digital MFP carries out communication with an authentication server and executes an authentication procedure. The authentication unit acquires authentication information from an operator, transmits an authentication request including the authentication information to the authentication server, and receives an authentication result from the authentication server. A determination unit determines whether or not to permit offering of a function called by an operation performed on an operation unit. A flash memory stores a network authentication setting designating necessity or non-necessity of the authentication procedure for each function in a manner that the network authentication setting may be edited. When a function designated in the network authentication setting as a function requiring the authentication procedure is called, the authentication unit executes the authentication procedure.

Abstract: An image processing device includes a document scanning unit, a color image processing unit, a monochrome image processing unit and a memory. A processing by the color image processing unit and a processing by the monochrome image processing unit are carried out simultaneously. The document scanning unit scans an original document. The color image processing unit converts scanned data obtained by the document scanning unit into color image data. The monochrome image processing unit converts the scanned data obtained by the document scanning unit into monochrome image data. The memory stores both the color image data and the monochrome image data.

Abstract: An image processing device includes a file memory, an editing unit and an operation unit. The editing unit includes a page number editing unit and an assigning unit. The file memory stores image information of a plurality of pages and page number information of each of the pages as a multipage file. The editing unit edits a file structure so as to add additional image information as a new page to the multipage file. When adding the additional image information to the multipage file, the operation unit accepts an entry of an insertion position of the additional image information. The page number editing unit reassigns consecutive edited page numbers to the image information of all of the pages including the additional image information. The assigning unit assigns an additional page number to the additional image information according to the insertion position of the additional image information.

Abstract: A communication terminal device, which is connected to a file server via a network in a manner that communication can be carried out, manages an image file transmitted from at least one communication terminal device including the communication terminal device itself and stored in the file server.

Abstract: An image processing device includes an accumulating unit an information deleting unit and an information updating unit. The accumulating unit accumulates image information of a plurality of pages as a multipage file, wherein the multipage file includes identification information associated with the image information of each of the pages. The information deleting unit deletes image information of any page of the multipage file. The information updating unit updates, when image information of one or more of the pages of the multipage file has been deleted by the information deleting unit, identification information corresponding to the image information of the deleted page.
