    Abstract: A metal recovery system includes: a desalination apparatus obtaining freshwater with a reverse osmosis membrane from liquid to be processed pressurized by a pump; a metal recovery apparatus recovering metal ions from first drainage from the desalination apparatus, using a metal ion exchange membrane; and a control apparatus that includes: a pump control unit controlling energization of the pump so that an inflow flow rate of the liquid to be processed flowing into the desalination apparatus is a predetermined first flow rate when an exchange membrane temperature is within a temperature range determined in advance; and an exchange membrane control unit controlling energization of electrodes applying an electric field to a metal ion exchange membrane based on a first ion concentration that is a concentration of the metal ions in the first drainage when the exchange membrane temperature is within a temperature range determined in advance.

An air hole is formed at an upper end of a cover member of the sensing section. The air hole is surrounded by a tubular portion of a shield member attached to a baffle plate of the oil pan. Therefore, any splashed engine oil in the oil pan is restricted from entering the cover member of the sensing section through the air hole. Also, a clearance (?) for venting air is formed between the tubular portion and the baffle plate.

The joint portion 33 of the oil pump shaft 19 and the balancer shaft 12 is comprised of a pair of engageable portions 33a, 33b provided at each end of the balancer shaft 12 and the oil pump shaft 19, respectively. The engageable portions 33a, 33b are disengageably engaged with each other in radial directions of the shafts 12, 19. The joint portion 33 can be seen from the outside, and thus a joining operation can be performed with ease.

    Abstract: There is provided a compact injection molding machine with casters. An injection unit and a mold clamping unit in the compact injection molding machine are disposed longitudinally on a base cabinet which is formed of a tall cabinet with a rectangular top surface. The molding machine can be manually moved and installed by mounting the casters on the bottom of the base cabinet. The inside of the base cabinet is partitioned with partition plates and receives units and devices required for the injection molding of resin. The injection unit and mold clamping unit may use any of oil pressure and electric power as their driving source. In the case of oil pressure, a hydraulic driving circuit and the like are received in the base cabinet, and in the case of electric power, electric servomotors and the like are received in the base cabinet.

    Abstract: Selectively operable first and second exhaust valves are provided for every combustion chamber in an engine. Branch pipes of a first intake manifold are connected to first exhaust ports opened and closed by the first exhaust valves, and branch pipes of a second exhaust manifold are connected to second exhaust ports opened and closed by the second exhaust valves. An adsorbing trap is provided in an aggregated pipe of the first exhaust manifold and a catalytic converter is provided in a common exhaust pipe connected to the aggregated pipes of the first and second exhaust manifolds. Only the first exhaust valves are operated to open and close at a low temperature of the adsorbing trap to permit the exhaust gas to flow into the first exhaust manifold. Thus, hydrocarbons (HCs) in the exhaust gas are adsorbed into the adsorbing trap at the low temperature and the heat of the exhaust gas is effectively utilized to promote the activation of the catalytic converter.
