  • Publication number: 20210261081
Abstract: An airbag device includes an airbag, an airbag cover and a holder for holding the airbag and airbag cover. The airbag cover includes a door that is openable around a hinge at airbag deployment, and a side wall that is disposed around the door and attached to the holder. A functional component is held by a holding member and disposed in the door. The holding member includes a distal-side connecting portion that is fixed to the functional component, a root-side connecting portion that is secured to the holder, and a deformable portion that is disposed between the distal-side connecting portion and the root-side connecting portion. The deformable portion is configured to be plastically deformed at airbag deployment while having the distal-side connecting portion keep holding the functional component and suppressing a centrifugal force of the functional component from acting on the hinge of the door of the airbag cover.

  • Patent number: 10654440
Abstract: A method of folding is provided for folding an airbag including a vehicle-side wall, a driver-side wall, an inlet opening formed in the vehicle-side wall and a mounting seat disposed in a periphery of the opening. The method includes a first process conducted in a first direction and a second process conducted in a second direction orthogonal to the former. The first process includes an initial folding that folds back each of opposite sides in the first direction of the airbag as flattened with respect to the mounting seat towards the mounting seat, a rolling that rolls the airbag towards the mounting seat from creases formed in the initial folding, and an invaginating that invaginates each of resulting rolled regions between the vehicle-side and driver-side walls. The second process folds up opposite sides in the second direction of the airbag with respect to the mounting seat each towards the mounting seat.

  • Patent number: 8702122
Abstract: An airbag (11) by which, when a vehicle (20) including two seats arranged in a vehicle width direction is subjected to a side collision, an occupant (P10, P11) sitting in a seat (22L, 22R) at the opposite side of the collision is restricted from moving to the collision side. The airbag (11) has, in the maximally-expanded status, an outline shape seen from the front side of the vehicle. This outline shape has: an airbag upper part (11U) that forms a part equal to or higher than a position corresponding to a shoulder of a seat back (25L, 23R) and that protects the neck and head for example of the occupant (P10, P11); and an airbag lower part (11D) that forms a part equal to or lower than a position corresponding to a shoulder of the seat back (25L, 23R) and that protects the shoulder and arm for example of the occupant (P10, P11). The airbag (11) is configured to have an entire shape that has the inner outline of the occupant (P10, P11) in the vehicle width direction.

  • Patent number: 8353529
Abstract: The airbag apparatus includes a folded airbag, an inflator and an airbag storage that stores therein the airbag and the inflator. The airbag is inflated by the gas introduced from the inflator in a region between the left seat and the right seat to abut both to a vehicle interior ceiling above the airbag storage and to interior parts of a vehicle interior below the airbag storage. The airbag prevents an occupant sitting in a seat at a side opposite to collision from moving to the collision side.

  • Publication number: 20110015737
Abstract: An adhesion-preventive film is provided that is excellent in flexibility and can prevent cracks from occurring. The adhesion-preventive film contains a copolymer of lactide and caprolactone. The lactide and the caprolactone of the copolymer has a mole ratio in the range of 65:35 to 80:20. Even when this adhesion-preventive film is used in a curved state in vivo or is wound around an affected part such as a tendon, for example, it can provide an adhesion-preventive function for a sufficiently long period without cracking.

  • Publication number: 20100283230
Abstract: The airbag apparatus (10) is installed in the vehicle (20) that has a plurality of seats arranged in the vehicle width direction. An airbag storage means (12) is formed between the plurality of seats (22R, 22L). An airbag (11) having a gas inflow opening and an inflator (13) for jetting gas into the airbag are stored in an airbag storage means (12). The inflator (12) is provided so as to jet gas in an upward direction. The airbag (11) is inflated in a substantially upward direction by the gas introduced from the inflator (12) and is abutted to a vehicle interior ceiling (25) and the vehicle interior ceiling (25) guides the inflation direction. The airbag (11) is inflated in the frontward direction and is then inflated in a downward direction to be the maximum inflation. An upper end and a lower end of the airbag (11) are abutted to a vehicle interior ceiling (25) and a vehicle interior lower side, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7527333
Abstract: There is provided an occupant protecting apparatus which reduces a load applied to an occupant caused by inflating an airbag in a seat portion. The occupant protecting apparatus is provided in a seat portion. The occupant protecting apparatus is constituted by an inflator serving as a gas generation source, and an airbag. In a state in which a gas is not supplied from the inflator, that is, in a state in which the airbag is extended to a rear side from a front side of the seat portion under a non-inflated state, a ratio between a distance from a center position of the inflator to a rear end of a support wall of a second bottom frame, and a distance from a distal end of the airbag to the rear end of the support wall of the second bottom frame is set to be equal to or less than 0.77.

  • Publication number: 20090001695
Abstract: An occupant protection apparatus includes an airbag and an inflator. The airbag is inflated and deployed between a first seat and a second seat, which are adjacent to each other in the vehicle width direction. The inflator supplies gas into the airbag. When the airbag is inflated and deployed, the airbag starts to be inflated and deployed in the vehicle width direction later than inflation and deployment in the vertical direction and the fore-and-aft direction of a vehicle. This permits the occupants seated in the first seat and the second seat to be restrained to the seats in an appropriate manner during inflation and deployment of the airbag.
