  • Publication number: 20180108176
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a receiving unit that receives first data that defines a shape of and a color of a surface of a three-dimensional object on each specific surface region of the three-dimensional object, and a generating unit that generates color voxel data from the first data. The generating unit assigns plural color components to plural surface voxels in accordance with color information on the color of the surface in the first data, starting with surface voxels, in a priority order of the color components from one having a lower lightness value to another having a higher lightness value, and does not assign an achromatic color component to a surface voxel if a density of the color of the surface in the first data is less than 100 percent.

  • Publication number: 20170322615
Abstract: It is an object to enable a request received from an outside to be automatically processed immediately before shifting to a power saving state such as a suspend state. On the way of a shift from a normal state to the suspend state and in a state where the shift cannot be interrupted, when a predetermined request such as a print job is received from an external interface, an MFP reserves a return to the normal state by turning on a wake-up reservation flag and continues a suspend process. When shifting to the suspend state, if the wake-up reservation flag is ON, a power supply control unit performs a return (resume) to the normal state even if no wake-up factor occurs.

  • Publication number: 20170176920
Abstract: An image forming apparatus capable of shifting to a state where quick activation thereof can be performed in a shorter time period when a power switch is turned off. When the off operation of the power switch is detected, a first state is stored, and when the on operation of the power switch is detected next, the state of the image forming apparatus is shifted to a second state from which the image forming apparatus can return to the first state. When the state of the image forming apparatus is shifted to the second state, time starts to be measured. When the on operation of the power switch is detected in the second state, the value of the measured time is acquired. The image forming apparatus is caused to return to the stored first state depending on the value of the measured time.

  • Publication number: 20170121838
Abstract: Anodizing techniques for providing highly opaque colorized anodic films are described. According to some embodiments, the methods involve depositing a pigment having a particle diameter of about 20 nanometers or greater into an anodic film. Additionally or alternatively, a barrier layer smoothing operation is used to flatten an interface between the anodic film and underlying metal substrate so as to maximize light reflection off the interface, thereby maximizing light reflected off the pigment that is deposited within pores of the anodic film. The resulting anodic films have an opaque or saturated colored appearance. In some embodiments, the methods involve increasing a thickness of a non-porous barrier layer of the anodic film so as to create thin film interference effects that can add a particular hue to the anodic film. The methods can be used form cosmetically appealing coatings for consumer products, such as housings for electronic products.

  • Publication number: 20170121836
Abstract: Anodic films that have a white color, and methods for forming the same, are described. According to some embodiments, the anodic films have multiple metal oxide layers. A first layer can provide scratch and chemical resistance and a second layer can provide a light diffusing pore structure that diffusely reflects incoming light and provides a white appearance to the anodic film. According to some embodiments, the anodic films also include a smoothed barrier layer that specularly reflects incoming light so as to brighten the appearance and enhance the white color of the anodic film. The resulting anodic films have an opaque white appearance not achievable using conventional techniques. The anodic films are well suited for providing cosmetically appealing coatings for consumer products, such as housings for electronic products.

  • Publication number: 20170126109
Abstract: A vibration motor includes a stationary portion including a housing and a coil, a moving portion, and an elastic member arranged between the stationary portion and the moving portion. The moving portion includes a magnet, a bracket, and an adhesive layer. The moving portion further includes a jacket arranged to cover at least a portion of a side surface of the adhesive layer. The coverage of at least a portion of the adhesive layer with the jacket contributes to preventing damage to the magnet and the adhesive layer when a load is applied to the moving portion. This contributes to preventing damage to the moving portion while minimizing an increase in the size of the vibration motor.
