  • Patent number: 8149291
Abstract: An image capture apparatus sets an amount of exposure on an image sensor based on luminance information on an object field, calculates an expected signal level value that is an expected value of luminance signal level that is expected to be output from the image sensor when the image sensor is exposed at the set amount of exposure, compares the expected signal level value with an actual signal level value that is an actual value of luminance signal level output from the image sensor when the image sensor is exposed at the set amount of exposure, and sets a gain based on a result of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 7978229
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus including a photoelectric conversion element, first, a shutter speed for still-image pickup is set. Next, an image-pickup frame rate is set on the basis of the shutter speed for still-image pickup. Then, an operation of the photoelectric conversion element is controlled such that picked-up images are output at the set image-pickup frame rate. When the image-pickup frame rate that is set is higher than a moving-image-reproducing frame rate, a frame for use in a moving-image reproduction is generated from a plurality of frames of the picked-up images and reproduction is performed at the moving-image-reproduction frame rate.

  • Patent number: 7907189
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to suitably perform a zooming control operation in the case that a zoom ring is provided at a lens-side portion and zoom switches are provided at a camera-body-side portion of a lens-interchangeable video camera. To achieve this object, in the case-that no zoom lens stop request is provided from the camera-body-side portion, it is judged from information sent from the camera-body-side portion which of a tele direction and a wide direction the moving direction of the zoom lens group is. Moreover, when the zoom angle is not placed at a tele end or at a wide end, lenses are driven by calculating data for driving the lenses. Thereafter, tele information is set or cleared according to whether the zoom lens group is placed at the tele end. Subsequently, zoom-ring operating information is detected. The detected zoom-ring operating information is sent to the camera-body-side portion.

  • Patent number: 7719707
Abstract: Improvement of printing speed is set out in an image processing apparatus, which is connected communicably with a printing apparatus, for transferring a recorded image to the printing apparatus and having the printing apparatus print the image. To achieve this object, the present invention has the following configuration. Namely, the invention provides an image processing method of an image capturing apparatus, communicably connected with a printing apparatus which prints transmitted image data. The image processing method comprises: a receiving step (step S101, S104) of receiving information regarding a printing condition of the printing apparatus for printing the transmitted image data; a processing step (step S103, S106) of processing image data to be transmitted to the printing apparatus based on the information regarding the printing condition received in the receiving step; and a transmitting step (step S108) of transmitting the image data processed in the processing step to the printing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6480226
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus which can produce an image provided with exposure suitable for both a backlighted object and its background without requiring a mechanical member, such as an iris or the like. The image pickup apparatus has a photoelectric conversion section for photoelectrically converting a light image so as to accumulate light information and to output the light information every unit light accumulation period which forms one picture. A digital camera signal processing circuit processes an output from the photoelectric conversion section to output a video signal. A timing signal generator outputs a plurality of timing signals for setting light information accumulation time every unit light accumulation period which is set in the photoelectric conversion section.
