  • Patent number: 6419065
Abstract: A multi-disk clutch 6 is provided with a reduced thickness so that the size of devices, such as a transmission employing the multi-disk clutch 6 can also be reduced. The multi-disk clutch 6 is configured to transmit and interrupt a torque between a radially outer wall 52 and a second cylindrical portion 69 of a spline hub. The multi-disk clutch 6 includes a plurality of first friction plates 50 and a plurality of second friction plates 51. Radially outer portions of the first friction plates 50 are coupled in a circumferential direction to the radially outer wall 52. Each second friction plate 51 has a core plate 90 and a friction facing 51a. The core plate 90 has a friction mounting portion opposed to the first friction plate 50, and tooth portions. The tooth portions are in mesh with the second cylindrical portion 69 of the spline hub. The friction facing 51a is joined to the friction mounting portion. The friction mounting portion has a smaller thickness than the tooth portion.

  • Patent number: 6155250
Abstract: A heat gathering device 1 is provided with a reflection plate assembly 2 and a heat gathering tube 3 with a glass tube 4 surrounding the reflection plate assembly 2 and the heat gathering tube 3. The reflection plate assembly 2 is designed to provide a structure which is capable of maintaining the accuracy of a compound paraboloid in a heat gathering device having a compound paraboloid. The reflection plate assembly 2 is an assembly for gathering light having a compound paraboloid, which is formed by combining two paraboloids 21a and 21b. The reflection plate assembly 2 includes a reflection plate 21 and a plurality of brackets 22. The reflection plate 21 is formed by specularizing and forming a compound paraboloid surface through a bending process on a side where light is gathered. The brackets 22 are installed on the reflection plate 21 on an opposite side of the side where light is gathered.

  • Patent number: 5918497
Abstract: A metalworking iterative method of cold-working blanks into configurations having contiguously repeated predetermined forms wherein an advance-worked form functions to locate a succeeding form. A first portion of a blank is squeezed into a predetermined form in a forming position of a press. The predetermined form corresponds to one cycle of the reciprocal undulations of an undulated plate spring. The blank is then shifted in the feed direction of the press by a feed pitch corresponding to one undulation, thereby locating the worked first portion of the blank into a locating position of the press, meanwhile a pitch-length second portion is in the forming position. Accordingly, the accuracy of the succeeding press operation on the second portion in terms of its contiguous position relative to the worked first portion is secured.
