Patent number: 6034740Abstract: In a keying system, an image of an object is gained and a plurality of the background images each of which is obtained correspondingly to a view angle of a view point in a three-dimensional space to be imaged and a view position of the view point therein are stored on a memory device. The background image from the plurality of background images stored in the memory device is selectively read according to the view angle and the view position preliminarily defined in accordance with the image of the object. A chroma-keying composition is performed between the background image and the image of the object thereby producing a composite image.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1996Date of Patent: March 7, 2000Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha PhotronInventors: Kenji Mitsui, Yoshitomo Sako

Patent number: 5966398Abstract: In a gas laser blower, the lower end opening of the oil passage (14) extends below the liquid level of the oil reservoir (17), so that the internal chamber (18) of housing and the oil passage (14) are separated by the oil within the oil reservoir. Further, a cylindrical guard (24) is disposed around the lower bearing (6) which supports the shaft so that the oil and oil mist scattered from the bearing are caught by the guard (24) and is returned to the oil reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1997Date of Patent: October 12, 1999Assignee: FANUC LimitedInventors: Norio Karube, Yasuyuki Morita, Kenji Nakahara, Kenji Mitsui

Patent number: 5900171Abstract: A laser machining apparatus capable of performing a high-speed and high-precision machining of a workpiece. One end of each of a first-axis and a second-axis expandable arms is supported on a fulcrum. The fulcrum is angularly movably within a predetermined range about the fulcrum in a plane parallel to a machining plane. A machining head is supported at a joint point of the first-axis and second axis expandable arms. Each arm has a ball screw and a cover having an expandable and contractible tube structure, and the machining head has a ball nut threaded to engage with the ball screw. As the ball screw is rotated by a servomotor, the arm extends and contracts to move the machining head. A Z-axis adjusting mechanism is provided between a joint portion of each arm and the machining head and a machining nozzle that is disposed on a tip of the machining head. A three-dimensional parallel drive system or a combination of a serial drive system and a parallel drive system may be used to drive the machining head.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1997Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Assignee: FANUC, LtdInventors: Norio Karube, Yoshinori Nakata, Kenji Mitsui

Patent number: 5856992Abstract: In a blower for compulsorily circulating a laser gas for a gas laser apparatus, a shaft (2) of an impeller (1) is fitted with an intermediate member (66) that rotates together therewith, and rings (641, 642) are fitted individually in annular grooves (651, 652) formed on the intermediate member (66). On the other hand, a bearing holder (60) for holding a bearing (5) that supports the shaft (2) is provided with a ring holder (63) having an inner wall kept normally in contact with the respective outer peripheral surfaces of the rings (641, 642). As a result, narrow axial gaps between the rings (641, 642) and the annular grooves (651, 652) prevent gaseous impurities from getting into a gas laser circulation path through a bearing (5).Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1997Date of Patent: January 5, 1999Assignee: Fanuc Ltd.Inventors: Norio Karube, Yasuyuki Morita, Kenji Nakahara, Kenji Mitsui

Patent number: 5742627Abstract: A laser oscillator system has prolonged service lives of optical components thereof by preventing dust and the like from being produced from heat exchanger, the heat exchanger being reduced in size, and further, generates a higher laser beam output. The laser oscillator system uses a plate type heat exchanger as a cooling unit. The plate type heat exchanger can be made free of dust and the like, during a process of manufacturing it. Hence, it is possible to prevent inclusion of dust and the like from the heat exchanger into a laser oscillator and, thereby, markedly prolong the service lives of optical component parts. Further, the plate type heat exchanger is reduced in size and weight, which makes it possible to simplify a laser gas-circulating system. Further, influence of presence thereof, such as vibrations transmitted therefrom and the like, adversely affecting an electric discharge tube and the like, is reduced.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1993Date of Patent: April 21, 1998Assignee: Fanuc, Ltd.Inventors: Yasuyuki Morita, Kenji Mitsui, Mitsuo Manabe

Patent number: 5461636Abstract: There is provided a turbo blower for lasers which is capable of effectively cooling a shaft and bearings thereof. Oil held in a shaft support member is drawn up via an oil inlet port by a centrifugal force generated by rotation of the shaft, and passes through a cooling oil passage extending through the shaft to be discharged from an oil outlet port provided below an upper one of rolling bearings as the bearings. The oil discharged from the outlet port returns via an oil return passage to an oil sump. While passing through the oil return passage, the oil is cooled by a coolant circulating through an coolant passage. Further, part of the oil discharged from the oil outlet port is supplied to the upper one of the bearings for lubrication. On the other hand, part of the oil held within the shaft support member is drawn up along a tapered portion of an oil suction head by the centrifugal force generated by rotation of the oil suction head for lubrication of a corresponding one of the rolling bearings.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1994Date of Patent: October 24, 1995Assignee: Fanuc Ltd.Inventors: Norio Karube, Yasuyuki Morita, Kenji Nakahara, Kenji Mitsui
