  • Patent number: 6199739
Abstract: A nail gun includes a contact arm that is movable relative to a nail gun body between an upper first stroke end position and a lower second stroke end position. The contact arm may prevent the nails from being driven when it is in the first stroke end position. A nail driving prevention device includes an engaging member that is movable to enter the moving path of the contact arm so as to prevent the contact arm from moving from the first stroke end position toward the second stroke end position when the number of the nails in a nail magazine has been reduced to a predetermined number. A deviating device is operable to change the moving course of the engaging member away from the moving path of the contact arm when the contact arm is positioned above the first stroke end position.

  • Patent number: 6161744
Abstract: A fastener tool includes a body having a driver guide mounted thereon. The driver guide extends downwardly from the body and has a longitudinal axis in a driving direction of fasteners. A control member may be movably mounted on the body for controlling a fastener driving operation. A support leg device serves to permit the tool to be placed on a surface in an upright position, in which the driver guide extends substantially vertically relative to the surface. The support leg device defines a predetermined support area extending in a plane for abutment with the surface. The support leg device is arranged such that the tool center of gravity is positioned directly above the support area in a plan view when the tool is in the upright position, in which the support area extends substantially horizontally, so that the control member does not substantially interfere with the surface.

  • Patent number: 6145727
Abstract: A pneumatic tool, such as a nailer, includes a housing, a cylinder disposed within the housing, and a piston slidably movable within the cylinder. The piston has a driver for driving fasteners, such as nails. An upper piston chamber and a lower piston chamber are defined within the cylinder on an upper side and a lower side of the piston, respectively. A control device is provided for controlling the supply of compressed air from a compressed air supply device to the upper piston chamber and to the lower piston chamber to drive the fasteners into a workpiece. The control device includes a variable pressure chamber and a valve. The variable pressure chamber is always connected to the compressed air supply device. The valve is operable to connect and disconnect the variable pressure chamber and the lower piston chamber in response to the position of the piston relative to the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5799856
Abstract: A fastener driving tool includes a fastener driving device for driving fasteners one after another. The fasteners are connected in series to each other to form a strip of fasteners. A fastener feeding device is provided for feeding the fasteners one after another to a driving position by the fastener driving device. The fastener feeding device includes a first claw and a second claw positioned forwardly of the first claw in the feeding direction of the fasteners. A drive device is provided for reciprocally moving each of the first and second claws between a frontmost position and a rearmost position. A stroke adjusting device is operable to provide difference between the stroke of movement of the first claw and the stroke of movement of the second claw, so that the stroke of movement of the second claw is smaller than the stroke of movement of the first claw.

  • Patent number: 5593079
Abstract: A nailing machine includes a body, a driver extending downwardly from the body and vertically reciprocally movable for driving nails, and a driver guide for guiding the driver. A contact arm is movable between a lower first position and an upper second position and has a lower end for abutment on a work. A magazine is mounted on the body for feeding the nails into the driver guide. A trigger is operable by an operator for driving the driver. A trigger control device is interlocked between the trigger and the contact arm for permitting the driver to be driven by the operation of the trigger only when the contact arm is positioned in the upper second position. An idle driving prevention device is operable independently of the trigger control device for preventing the driver from being driven through operation of the trigger when the amount of the nails has been reduced to a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 5522533
Abstract: A magazine for use with a fastener driving tool is adapted for feeding a fastener stick having fasteners connected in series into a driver guide. The magazine has a magazine body and a slide door. The magazine body has a bottom defining a guide surface for the fastener stick. The slide door is mounted on the magazine body and is slidable in a feeding direction of the fastener stick relative to the magazine body between a closed position and an open position. The slide door in the closed position and the bottom of said magazine body cooperate to define a fastener storing chamber for storing the fastener stick therebetween. The fastener storing chamber is opened to the outside when the slide door is at the open position. A pusher serves to push the fastener stick in the fastener storing chamber in the fastener feeding direction.

  • Patent number: 5332141
Abstract: A nailing machine includes a nail feeding channel member having therein a nail feeding channel connected to a nail guide channel formed in a driver guide. A driver is reciprocally driven through the nail guide channel for driving nails of a nail-carrying strip supplied by a nail feeding mechanism from a magazine through the nail feeding channel. A door member is mounted on the nail feeding channel member for closing and opening the nail feeding channel. An engaging pawl and a strip-retaining pawl are mounted on the door member. The engaging pawl is operable to engage one of engaging holes of the nail-carrying strip set in the nail feeding channel, as the door member is closed, for preventing movement of the nail-carrying strip in a direction opposite to the feeding direction of the nail-carrying strip.
