    Abstract: A hybrid vehicle has a generator motor coupled to the output shaft of an engine through a transfer shaft, for transmitting an assistive output power for assisting an output power of the engine through the transfer shaft to the output shaft of the engine. A battery stores electric energy regenerated by the generator motor from kinetic energy of the hybrid vehicle transmitted from the output shaft of the engine through the transfer shaft. A generator is mounted on the transfer shaft and has an electric energy generating ability smaller than the generator motor. The generator generates electric energy to energize another device than the battery.

    Abstract: A method for regenerating an extrusion die for ceramic honeycomb structural bodies. The extrusion die includes a base metal and a titanium-based hard coating of an abrasion-resistant material which is formed on a surface of the base metal. The extrusion die is immersed in a solution of nitric acid when it has worn, so as to remove a residue of the hard coating from the surface of the base metal. Subsequently, a titanium-based fresh hard coating is formed on the surface of the base metal, and a pattern adjustment of the die is then performed wherein the surface of the fresh hard coating is locally ground so that the sliding resistance of the raw ceramic material becomes substantially uniform over the entire region of the die.

A light-bulb-shaped fluorescent lamp which has high conformity to regular light bulbs and realizes the same brightness as a regular 60 W light bulb while consuming less power than a conventional light-bulb-shaped fluorescent lamp is provided by setting the external diameter of the globe in the range of 55-65 mm, the total length of the globe in the range of 65-80 mm, the internal diameter of the fluorescent tube in the range of 7-11 mm, and the distance between the electrodes in the range of 200-280 mm.

    Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine has an air-fuel ratio sensor arranged in the exhaust system of the engine, for detecting the air-fuel ratio of exhaust gases emitted from the engine, and various engine operating parameter sensors for detecting operating conditions of the engine. An ECU controls the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture to be supplied to the engine to a desired air-fuel ratio in a feedback manner responsive to an output from the air-fuel ratio sensor. A first learned value for correcting the desired air-fuel ratio is calculated based on the feedback control when the engine is detected to be in a first predetermined operating condition, and a second learned value for correcting the desired air-fuel ratio when the engine is detected to be in a second predetermined engine operating condition. The air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture is controlled to a value leaner than a stoichiometric value, by using the first learned value.

    Abstract: A battery container is provided with a battery cover having side walls so that a gap is formed between the side walls of the container and the side walls of the cover. The upper end portion of a bottomed heat-shielding case is inserted into this gap so that the heat-shielding case is detachably attached to the battery container and covers the container and forms a space between the container and the case. The space between the container and case is closed to air outside the case and air convection between the outside air and the air inside the space can be prevented thereby increasing the heat-shielding effect for protecting the storage battery from high temperatures. Additionally, the heat-shielding case is designed to be attached securely to the battery container (1) to make one body therewith, making it easier to mount and dismount them in an automobile engine compartment.

    Abstract: A VTR incorporating a video printing controller comprising at least one rotary magnetic head for scanning recording tracks formed on a magnetic tape to reproduce a video signal recorded on a recording track specified by a marker signal, a marker signal detector for detecting the marker signal specifying the recording track carrying the video signal to be printed, and a system controller connected to the marker signal detector and to a video printer connected to the VTR. The system controller gives a video printer control signal to the video printer upon receipt of a marker signal detection signal from the marker signal detector to control the video printer for printing out in a hard copy the video image reproduced from the recording track specified by the marker signal. Thus, the recording track storing the video image desired to be printed is located automatically by searching the recording tracks for the marker signal, and then the desired video signal is printed out automatically.
