  • Patent number: 6603364
Abstract: This temperature-compensated crystal oscillator includes: a temperature sensor 11; an analog type temperature compensating section 12; a digital type temperature compensating section 13; an adder circuit 14; and a voltage controlled crystal oscillating circuit 3. The analog type temperature compensating section 12 and the digital type temperature compensating section 13 each generate temperature compensation voltages based on an input voltage corresponding to the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 11. Both of these temperature compensation voltages are added to each other by the adder circuit 14 and the resultant added voltage is applied to a voltage control terminal of the voltage-controlled crystal oscillating circuit 3. Thereby, an oscillation frequency of the voltage-controlled crystal oscillating circuit 3 is stabilized, resulting in realization of the temperature compensation of a crystal resonator 4.

  • Patent number: 6584380
Abstract: An approximate third-order function generator includes first, second, and third amplifiers, each receiving a common input signal and different fixed level signals. The three fixed level signals received respectively by the amplifiers sequentially increase in level. Each amplifier has an input-output characteristic whereby a non-inverted or inverted output signal is provided based on the common input signal and the fixed level signal. The fourth amplifier receives the same fixed level signal as the second amplifier and has an input-output characteristic in which a non-inverted or inverted output signal is provided based on the common input signal and the fixed level signal. The outputs of the first, third and fourth amplifiers have the same polarity, while that of the second amplifier is inverted. The output signals from the first, second, third and fourth amplifiers are added to generate a third-order function component free from the first-order component.

  • Patent number: 5878041
Abstract: CPCS-UU in the CPCS-PDU trailer defined by the AAL Type 5 in an ATM network is used as a sequence number for error handling. CPCS-UU in the CPCS-PDU trailer is used as a sequence number of an MPEG-2 transport stream packet contained in CPCS-PDU; by monitoring the number of packets, and based on the check results of CRC-32, LI, and cell count, error handling is performed at the receiving end, and for corrupted packets, null packets are inserted in place of the corrupted packets.

  • Patent number: 5838726
Abstract: A method is provided for automatically adjusting the output signal level from a transmitting apparatus, in which the transmitting apparatus recognizes the distance to a receiving apparatus and automatically adjusts the signal output level. In a system in which a signal is transmitted from a transmitting apparatus via a coaxial cable to a receiving apparatus, the signal output from the transmitting apparatus is gradually changed, a judgment being made as to whether or not reception of the signal is possible at the receiving apparatus. When this condition is achieved, notification of the condition is made to the transmitting apparatus which when receiving this notification, sets the signal level to the signal level at that time, thereby setting the signal level to the level which is the receiving limit at the receiving apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5828744
Abstract: A call waiting processing system used in an ISDN network includes an originating terminal unit and a destination terminal unit. To reduce an inefficient load on the terminal units, resulting from an unacceptable call setting, the system is configured such that when the originating terminal unit is in a calling mode, provided that the destination terminal unit is in a busy mode, the originating terminal unit requests a notification of a waiting period available for call setting to the destination terminal unit. When the destination terminal unit receives a notification request for a waiting period from the originating terminal unit, it notifies the originating terminal unit of the waiting period.

  • Patent number: 5602907
Abstract: During an execution of communications between an originating terminal and a receiving terminal which are connected through an ISDN, when an item of information saying that a rate at which charges for the communications are shared between these terminals is changed to a given rate is transmitted from either the originating terminal or the receiving terminal to the ISDN, the communication charges after transmitting this item of information are imposed on the originating terminal and/or the receiving terminal in accordance with this rate presented. If an agreement of the other terminal is not obtained on this occasion, the charges are imposed on the originating terminal and/or the receiving terminal in accordance with an original accounting rate or the rate presented from the other terminal.

  • Patent number: 5063650
Abstract: A method of assembling a steering assembly having a socket connected to a steering shaft via a steering joint which socket is to be serration-fitted to an input shaft of a gearbox which is mounted on a suspension assembly. The phase of the socket is measured at the time when a steering wheel is aligned in a neutral posture while the steering assembly is maintained in the same articulated condition as when the steering assembly is assembled to a car body and while the steering wheel is serration-fitted to the steering shaft of the steering assembly. The phase of the input shaft is adjusted such that the input shaft can be serration-fitted into the socket in the phase measured in the preceding step. The adjustment is performed by rotating the input shaft within an angular range corresponding to one half pitch of the serrations of the input shaft in either direction from a neutral posture in which the steering angles to the right and to the left are equal.

  • Patent number: 4872793
Abstract: The boss of a steering wheel is serrated by setting the steering wheel on a serrating broaching machine, inserting a serrating broach into a through hole defined in the boss of the steering wheel, and then pulling the serrating broach with a broach chuck gripping the serrating broach to cut serrations on an inner surface of the through hole in the boss. The steering wheel is positioned nonrotatably in a prescribed angular orientation on the broaching machine while placing the boss on a holder of the broaching machine. Then, the serrating broach is inserted through the through hole in the boss into the holder of the broaching machine while holding the serrating broach in a prescribed angular orientation around the axis thereof with respect to the broach chuck. Finally, the serrating broach is pulled from the boss with the broach chuck gripping the serrating broach to cut serrations on the inner surface of the boss.
