  • Publication number: 20100130890
Abstract: An activity measurement system gives, based upon consecutively measured activity intensities, an exercise index (EX) indicative of energetic exercise and a daily activity index (DA) indicative of a routine living activity within a predetermined measurement time period, and display an activity element A (x, y), a combination of these indexes within an X-Y matrix plane. The exercise index (EX) is calculated at a first operation means as a sum of a product of the activity intensity exceeds a predetermined reference and a time period during which the activity intensity exceeds the reference, within the measurement time period. The daily activity index (DA) is calculated at a second operation means as a caloric consumption divided by a basal metabolic rate of a user within the measurement time period. The caloric consumption is determined a function of the activity intensity per unit time below the reference and data indicative of physical characteristics of the user.

  • Patent number: 6277049
Abstract: A shift control system executing a shift of an automatic transmission with a manual shift mode from a first speed position to a second speed position. A controller of the shift control system controls a first valve for varying a pressure applied to a first friction element and a second valve for varying a pressure applied to a second friction element. The controller delays an operation of the second valve as compared with an operation of the first valve when a transmission oil temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature.

  • Patent number: 6223112
Abstract: A shift device for an automatic transmission generates no manual shift demand in response to a plurality of operator shift demands. A steering wheel has an up-down select switch. A range selector has an upshift switch and a downshift switch in addition to an automatic mode switch. An operator shift demand may be generated through any one of the steering mounted switches and the select lever. A control unit has an operator upshift demand input terminal and an operator downshift demand input terminal. The control unit has a circuit that generates a two-level up signal and a circuit that generates a two-level down signal. The up signal has an “OFF” level indicative of absence of an operator upshift demand on the operator upshift demand input terminal. It has an “ON” level indicative of presence of an operator upshift demand on the operator upshift demand input terminal.

  • Patent number: 6139466
Abstract: A torque converter lock-up clutch controlling system for a vehicle drive train inputs a vehicle speed signal and an engine load signal. The vehicle drive train includes an automatic transmission operable in a manual ("M") ratio change mode when an operator selects a "M" range position. The system enables the automatic transmission to behave like a manual transmission upon selection of the "M" range position. A memory includes a "M" range lock-up shift point map for storing data which relates the lock-up application and release to the vehicle speed and engine load signals. The "M" range lock-up shift point map includes lock-up application values, which correspond to the magnitudes of the vehicle speed signal at which lock-up clutch applications are to occur. The magnitudes of the vehicle speed signal at which lock-up clutch applications are to occur are determined in a manner as a function of the magnitudes of the engine load signal.

  • Patent number: 6128566
Abstract: A vehicle drive train includes an automatic transmission, which has an automatic shift mode and a manual shift mode. The transmission is operable in the automatic shift mode and also operable in the manual shift mode. An input device has a manual select lever. A controller receives an operator mode change demand from the input device and conditions the automatic transmission for operation in one of the automatic and manual shift modes in accordance with the operator mode change demand after a predetermined condition has been met. The predetermined condition is met when the pending shift that is in progress is completed.

  • Patent number: 6080083
Abstract: A shift mode selector for an automatic transmission of a vehicle drive train including an engine, includes a first shift point map for an automatic shift in an automatic shift mode and a second shift point map in a manual shift mode. An input device produces an operator mode change demand from the manual shift mode to the automatic shift mode. A controller determines whether or not a potential downshift demand is available upon effecting a mode change demanded by said operator mode change demand. The controller prohibits the mode change when said potential downshift demand is available, and produces a gear ratio control signal in accordance with the second shift point map unless a predetermined condition is met. The gear ratio control signal is applied to a gear ratio actuator for establishing various gear ratios in the automatic transmission.

  • Patent number: 5868033
Abstract: A manual shift control system for automatic transmissions is so constructed as to carry out automatic shift control when a motor vehicle is found in the operation area where selection of a manual speed ratio is not allowed. Acceptance of the manual upshift or downshift command is prohibited until a predetermined time elapses after occurrence of automatic shift.

  • Patent number: 4670430
Abstract: Polyvalent metal salts of 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide which are made into fine powder in which particles having a size below 0.2 micron are contained in amounts not smaller than 50 wt %.Preparing process of the above and antibacterial compositions comprising the above are also disclosed. When the finely powdered polyvalent metal salts of 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide are incorporated into shampoo or rinse compositions, dispersion stability of the salts is remarkably improved with the enhanced adsorbability of the particles on the skin and hair, thus antibacterial and dandruff-removing actions owing to the salts are further improved.
