  • Publication number: 20090109594
Abstract: An electrostatically atomizing device comprises an emitter electrode, an opposed electrode disposed in an opposed relation to the emitter electrode, cooling means for condensing water on the emitter electrode from within a surrounding air, and a high voltage source for applying high voltage between the emitter electrode and the opposed electrode; and high voltage is applied to the condensed water, which becomes electrostatically charged thereby, so that minute water particles are discharged from a discharge end at a tip of the emitter electrode. The device comprises a controller for causing the charged minute water particles to be discharged stably. The controller has an initial control mode and a normal control mode. In the initial mode, the cooling means is controlled so as to cool the emitter electrode at a predetermined cooling rate.

  • Patent number: 7417352
Abstract: A brush holder incorporates a terminal integral part, which has a coupling portion. The coupling portion couples the terminals with each other. The brush holder has a resin body and a plurality of terminals. The resin body has an opening. The terminals are embedded in the resin body. The terminals are coupled to each other by the coupling portion as an integral part before being embedded in the resin body. The coupling portion is exposed from the opening of the resin body. The terminals are separated from each other by cutting the coupling portion, which is exposed from the opening of the resin body. A coating member coats the opening of the resin body to insulate each terminal.

  • Patent number: 7221070
Abstract: An electric appliance has a first terminal and a second terminal electrically connected to the first terminal. The first terminal has a soldering portion for soldering the second terminal thereon. The soldering portion has a smooth face and a rough face disposed on one imaginary plane. The rough face has a flat portion and a plurality of concavities disposed on the flat portion at intervals. Further, the soldering portion may have a through hole adjacent to the rough face to insert the second terminal. The first terminal is embedded in an insulator. The insulator has an opening exposing the soldering portion therein. The insulator includes a frame forming a housing of an electric appliance. A seal seals a connection gap at a margin of the frame in the housing. A partition wall may be disposed between the soldering portion and the seal.

  • Publication number: 20050165778
Abstract: A computer based system and method of retrieving information pertaining to documents on a computer network is disclosed. The method includes selecting a set of documents to be accessed during a Web crawl by utilizing a statistical model to determine which previously retrieved documents are most likely to have changed since last accessed. The statistical model is continuously improving its accuracy by training internal probability distributions to reflect the actual experience with change rate patterns of the documents accessed. The decision made whether to access the document is based on the probability of change compared against a desired synchronization level, random selections, maximum limits on the amount of time since the document was last accessed, and other criterion. Once the decision to access is made, the document is checked for changes and this information is used to train the statistical model.

Abstract: A computer based system and method of determining whether to re-fetch a previously retrieved document across a computer network is disclosed. The method utilizes a statistical model to determine whether the previously retrieved document likely changed since last accessed. The statistical model is continuously improving its accuracy by training internal probability distributions to reflect the actual experience with change rate patterns of the documents accessed. • Patent number: 6018977
Abstract: A crude work having a cylindrical boss formed integrally with a base plate is processed to a final product by a press work without using additional machining. An inner diameter of the boss is enlarged by a punch, and at the same time an outer diameter of the boss is shrunk by an outer die, while the work is supported on a cushion ring to which a force against the movement of the punch and the outer die is applied. Some of the material constituting the cylindrical boss is squeezed, and a bulge is formed at a foot of the cylindrical boss out of the material squeezed. Since the bulge is fromed in a confined space in the die structure, no crack or defect develops in or on the bulge. The bulge is further compressed by a press work to form a flat flange out of the bulge. The cylindrical boss having the flange formed integrally therewith is used as a center boss for holding a bearing of a rotary machine.

  • Patent number: 4812203
Abstract: An evaporator which is formed, in combination, of a first evaporator of a centrifugal falling-film type; and a second evaporator having a shape formed of a heating side wall portion of a downward-pointing conical configuration, a cover portion defining at least one opening, through which a liquid to be treated is charged and resulting volatile components are discharged, and a bottom portion defining at least one opening permitting discharge of an evaporation residue. A scraping agitator is built in the second evaporator. The side wall portion is externally wrapped with a pipe or the like, whereby a heating medium is caused to pass therethrough for heating the side wall portion. The evaporation residue discharge opening of the first evaporator is connected to the opening of the cover portion of the second evaporator. The above evaporator is suitable to recover a volatile component from a high-viscosity liquid containing tar-like substances. It can achieve a high recovery rate.
