  • Patent number: 6942017
Abstract: An intercooler has a case through which supercharging air passes, and a heat exchanger 4 mounted inside the case which allows heat exchange between the supercharging air and a cooling fluid. A frame body 15 is provided at the circumferential edges of air passage portions of the heat exchanger 4 on a supercharging air intake side and a supercharging air outlet side to reduce the gap between the heat exchanger and the inner wall of the case. The heat exchanger 4 has a pair of tanks 43 and 44, tubes communicating between the tanks, and a plurality of fins 46 set along the tubes, and assumes a structure that allows the supercharging air to pass through the heat exchanger a plurality of times by sequentially passing through blocks formed by dividing a heat exchanging unit 4A into a plurality of blocks with partitioning plates 15d.

  • Patent number: 6634420
Abstract: In order to provide an intercooler assuming a simple structure that enables cooling of supercharging air and absorption of any expansion/contraction of the cooling water pipe and the casing attributable to the heat of the supercharging air, intake/outlet pipes of a heat exchanger housed inside a cooling space formed within a case are inserted at cylindrical pipe insertion portions formed at the case, and any gap present between the intake/outlet pipes and the insertion portions are sealed by seal members each constituted of an elastic material formed in a staged cylindrical shape having a first cylindrical portion placed in complete contact with one of the pipe insertion portions and a second cylindrical portion placed in complete contact with either one of the intake/outlet pipes, which are also utilized to fit the heat exchanger in the case with a gap.

  • Patent number: 6632144
Abstract: To easily perform a change between a four-wheel drive operation of a vehicle to a two-wheel drive operation of the vehicle. In a four-wheel buggy having the four-wheel drive specification in which a longitudinally mounted engine with a crank shaft is directed in the longitudinal direction of the vehicular body, an output shaft is divided into a main body portion and a front wheel connection portion. In the case of applying the output shaft structure to the four-wheel drive specification, a male spline formed on a front end portion of the main body portion is fitted in a female spline formed in a rear end portion of the front wheel connection portion. A front end portion of the front wheel connection portion projects forwardly from an outlet portion of a front case cover, and is connected to a front wheel propeller shaft.

  • Patent number: 6527087
Abstract: To reduce the size and weight of an oil tank for a dry sump type lubricating system. A separate oil tank of a dry sump type lubricating system is mounted on the front surface of a front case cover constituting part of a crankcase divided into front and rear parts. An effective volume portion, in which oil supplied from the crankcase side via scavenging pumps and cooled by an oil cooler is contained, is provided in the oil tank. The bottom portion of the effective volume portion is connected to a feed pump on the crankcase side via an outlet side passage. A tank side pipe portion extending rearwardly through the oil tank is integrally provided at a portion of the oil tank higher than the oil level in the oil tank. The tank side pipe portion is connected to a crankcase side pipe portion integrally provided on an upper portion of the front case cover to form an overflow passage.

  • Patent number: 4605387
Abstract: A tensioner has rolling members disposed between a rotatable outer member and a fixed inner member. The inner member has a bottom wall at at least one end thereof. The bottom wall has therein an eccentric position aperture for position adjustment situated at a position deviated from the axis of the inner member. A fixing bolt extends through said aperture. A spring member having at least one end which can be restrained by the inner member and the other end which can be restrained by the restraining portion of a support member to which the tensioner is mounted is provided within the inner member. Thus, a desired tension may be imparted to a transmission strap contacting the outer member by the spring member.
