  • Patent number: 5842306
Abstract: A transplanter(10) for transplanting a plug seedling(G) grown in each cell(14a) of a plug seedling tray(14) to a certain size to a transplanted seedling tray(15) or a pot comprising a plug seedling carrying means(12) for carrying the plug seedling tray(14), a transplanted seedling carrying means(13) spaced at a certain distance from the plug seedling carrying means(12) for carrying the transplanted seedling tray(15) or the pot, a seedling transfer mechanism(30) disposed across the plug seedling carrying means(12) and the transplanted seedling carrying means(13) for transferring the plug seedling from the position above the plug seedling tray(14) to the position above the transplanted seedling tray(15), the seedling transfer mechanism(30) including an endless chain or belt(35) passing above the plug seedling carrying means(12) and the transplanted seedling carrying means(13) and circulating in a plane made at a certain angle with respect to a horizontal plane, the endless chain or belt(35) being provided at it

  • Patent number: 4960639
Abstract: Provided are multilayered containers comprising a layer of a composition comprising a gas barrier resin, particularly ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, incorporating an inorganic powder such as mica, and a layer of a composition comprising a thermoplastic resin incorporating an inorganic powder such as mica. The containers are excellent in gas barrier properties, particularly in gas barrier properties after being retorted, while showing very little deformation during retort treatment, and further excellent in mechanical strengths.

  • Patent number: 4778842
Abstract: Polyester resin compositions exhibiting excellent impact resistance and moldability are disclosed comprising:(a) 80 to 40 parts by weight of a polyethylene terephthalate type polyester [component (a)];(b) 20 to 60 parts by weight of a poly(1,4-butylene terephthalate) type polyester [component (b)];(c) a metal salt of a copolymer consisting essentially of an .alpha.-olefin, an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid and optionally, a third vinyl comonomer, wherein said .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid is present in said copolymer in an amount of 1 to 30 mole percent and at least 20 mole percent of the carboxyl groups contained in said copolymer are in the form of monovalent to trivalent metal salts [component (c1)];said resin composition optionally further containing a poly(.alpha.-olefin) type copolymer, a block copolyetherester elastomer and/or a reinforcing filler.

  • Patent number: 4560715
Abstract: Incorporation in a thermoplastic resin of a mass of mica flakes having a median shape factor of not less than 0.76, an average particle size of not more than 2,000 .mu.m and an average aspect ratio of not less than 10 followed by molding gives moldings which are high not only in mechanical strength but also in strength at weld parts. Incorporation of said mica flake mass in a thermosetting resin followed by molding affords moldings very high in strength as well as in modulus of elasticity.

  • Patent number: 4412103
Abstract: A diaphragm for an electro-acoustic transducer comprising a sheet formed from a mixture of a polymer and mica, where the sheet contains (a) 30 to 95% by weight of a polymer selected from among polyolefins, polyesters, and polyamides and (b) 5 to 70% by weight of mica having a weight-average flake diameter not exceeding 500 microns and a weight-average aspect ratio of at least 10. By adding the specified mica, the sheet has a drastically improved dynamic modulus and a substantially unchanged loss tangent.
