  • Patent number: 5924208
Abstract: A cutter blade retaining plate having a fitting hole to be used for attachment onto a drive shaft in its center position, in which, on both sides of the fitting hole, a boss portion is provided to which cutter blades having different diameters may be fitted. The various cutter blades, each having a different diameter fitting hole, can be easily attached to the drive shaft by changing the orientation of the cutter blade retaining plate or by pressably sliding the blade onto the boss portion, thereby compressing a moveable boss portion. The invention thus eliminates the need for use of differing collars with cutter blades having differing diameter fitting holes, thereby also reducing the incidence of loss of the collars.

  • Patent number: 4996372
Abstract: In a process for producing 2,6-dihydroxynaphthalene from 2,6-diisopropylnaphthalene, 2,6-diisopropylnaphthalene is oxidized in the presence of a specific proportion of a basic compound to hydroxylate or hydroperoxylate 2,6-diisopropylnaphthalene in a high conversion, and the resulting intermediate is then subjected to acid cleavage in the presence of hydrogen peroxide to produce 2,6-dihydroxynaphthalene in a high yield. The yield of 2,6-dihydroxynaphthalene increases by subjecting the reaction mixture containing the above intermediate to a purifying operation or dehydrating operation or adding acetone to it before it is submitted to the acid cleavage. 2,6-Dihydroxynaphthalene may be reacted with acetic anhydride to obtain 2,6-diacetoxynaphthalene.

  • Patent number: 4675307
Abstract: An alkali metal-supported substance comprising a calcination product of a hydrotalcite-like compound having Mg as a divalent metal and a carbonate ion as an anion and an alkali metal supported on the calcination product. When this substance is treated with a gas containing molecular oxygen, part of the alkali metal is converted to its oxide to give a more stable substance. These substances act, for example, as an isomerization catalyst for olefins.
