Abstract: A communication data processing apparatus which distributes streaming data and other general data other than the streaming data obtained via a network to a decoder and a CPU respectively, and which is configured to be independent from the CPU, includes: a communication data obtaining unit (31) which obtains communication data from a PHY (20) that transmits and receives a physical signal to and from the network; a frame sorting unit (33) which partitions the obtained communication data into frames and sorts specific frames which include streaming data, out of the respective partitioned frames; a streaming data output unit (35) which outputs the streaming data that is included in the sorted specific frames to a decoder (40); and a general frame output unit (36) which outputs general frames other than the sorted specific frames to a MAC (51) that performs data link processing.

Abstract: Provided is an in-home receiving terminal system capable of detecting that a receiving terminal device is outside a subscriber's house, and restricting viewing of cable television broadcasting by the receiving terminal device outside the subscriber's house. In the in-home receiving terminal system comprising a main terminal device and a sub-terminal device for receiving digital cable television broadcasting, the main terminal device and the sub-terminal device being connected to an in-home network, a link detecting portion of the sub-terminal device detects the status of a link connection with the in-home network, and a terminal control portion of the sub-terminal device controls activation/deactivation of a television reception tuner based on the detected status of the link connection.

Abstract: In a television reception control system, a master reception device receives and plays back broadcast data from a cable television network, and communicates with a slave reception device via an in-home network. The slave reception device receives and plays back the broadcast data from the cable television network, and communicates with the master reception device via the in-home network, and when no connection with the master reception device is established for a predetermined period of time, the slave reception device is suspended from receiving the broadcast data.

Abstract: A password setting method for setting a same password used for connecting to a network by multiple video receiving apparatuses retaining unique information different from one another, to said multiple video receiving apparatuses includes: a password generation step in which a remote control apparatus for transmitting an operation signal with respect to said multiple video receiving apparatuses, or one video receiving apparatus among said multiple video receiving apparatuses generates said password based on said unique information retained by said one video receiving apparatus, and stores the password in a password storage unit provided in said remote control apparatus; and a password transmitting step in which said remote control apparatus transmits said stored password to any other video receiving apparatus.
