  • Patent number: 7136099
Abstract: The digital camera 1, when a length-direction range expanding button 14 or a breadth-direction range expanding button 15 is operated, changes the length-direction and breadth-direction image pickup effective ranges of a solid state image pickup device 40 using an image pickup effective range setting table 41. Due to this, there can be obtained picked-up images with a length-to-breadth ratio changed without rotating the main body of the digital camera 1. Also, since the length-direction and breadth-direction image pickup effective ranges are adjusted such that the area of the image pickup effective ranges of the solid state image pickup device 40 can provide a substantially constant value, there can be always obtained an image of good quality.

  • Patent number: 6319390
Abstract: A method of and system for cleansing a toilet or urinal are proposed which require less maintenance work and are safer to users than conventional methods using acid substances, and which can prevent the formation of stain on the toilet or urinal effectively and suppress the generation of ammonia sufficiently, thus accomplishing a sufficient countermeasure to the stench. A urinal (A1) is provided with a continuous electrolytic cell (1) having at least a pair of electrodes, a passage formed between the electrodes, and an inlet and an outlet that lead to the passage. Tap water is electrolyzed by the continuous electrolytic cell (1), whereby free chlorine is produced. Then the water containing free chlorine produced is supplied to the urinal (A1), and the water containing free chlorine sterilizes the inside of the urinal, thus preventing urease, an enzyme carried by bacteria, from acting to decompose urea.

  • Patent number: 5744891
Abstract: A DC motor brush assembly includes a brush brought into contact with a commutator piece which is connected to the coil of a DC motor, and a brush holder of plastic material for holding the brush against the motor housing. The brush is formed by bending from a bottom shield sheet. The bottom shield sheet is brought into intimate contact with a mold to form a non-molding chamber containing the brush when the brush holder is to be insert-molded. The brush holder is molded integrally over the bottom shield sheet.

  • Patent number: 5185311
Abstract: For the preparation of a catalytic composite for purifying exhaust gases, first, at least one perov-skite-type compound oxide of the formula RMO.sub.3, where R is La or a combination of La and Ce, and M is Co, Mn or a combination thereof, is supported together with cerium dioxide and alumina sol on a heat resistant carrier made of an inorganic oxide selected from the group consisting of cordierite and mullite, and then iron and palladium are further supported together thereon. As a result, a catalytic composite having a high degree of oxidation activity at low temperatures and also having excellent heat resistance can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5145648
Abstract: The present invention is an exhaust smoke purifier apparatus which contains a reservoir part consisting of an adsorbent and a purifier part. The purifier part includes a purifying agent. The present invention has a regeneration function and oil smoke and the like generated in cooking is drafted into the purifier apparatus by a greater air blow rate to temporarily hold it in the reservoir part. After cooking, the oil smoke and the like is introduced from the reservoir part into the purifier part at a smaller air blow rate and is thereby purified. The exhaust smoke purifier apparatus requires minimal manual treatment for captured oil smoke and the like, and is very clean. The apparatus can effectively purify with a very small amount of purifying agent. The apparatus can also be made small.
