    Abstract: A spring 15 is crimpingly fixed to an element holding plate 14 of the fluid filter. Since the spring 15 is crimpingly fixed to the element holding plate 14, a material having a high elastic limit can be freely selected for the spring 15. At the assembling time, the spring 15 can be prevented from yielding to be elastically deformed, even when the size between the upper end of the element 12 and the crest of the filter case 11 fluctuates. As a result, it is possible to provide a fluid filter which requires no high sizing accuracy of the individual parts composing the fluid filter at the assembling time so that it can be easily assembled.

The sealing member (21) is joined to the element body (20) by ultrasonic fusion, which is applied exclusively to an outer peripheral portion (210) of the sealing member (21).

When data in an address corresponding to the defective cell of the mask ROM is rewritten twice or more, a priority setting circuit permits newest data to be preferentially read out.

    Abstract: An air bag for vehicles is formed by a pair of sheets of composite materials for bags sewed together with a sewing thread at their peripheral portions which are inside the bag. A sewing thread protecting layer made of a rubber compound covers the exposed portions of the thread. Each of the sheets consists of a base fabric for bags and a heat-resistant film of a chloroprene rubber compound laminated on the inside surface of the base fabric. The sewing thread protecting layer is made of a rubber compound containing a blend polymer of ethylene propylene rubber and choroprene rubber with the blending formula by weight of the former and the latter being from 30/70 to 70/30.

    Abstract: An uncured polyurethane coating formed by applying polyurethane paint containing isocyanate prepolymer on a substrate is cured by a method which comprises applying a catalyst (cure accelerator) on the uncured polyurethane coating and subsequently exposing the polyurethane coating to a heating atmosphere of 60.degree. to 100.degree. C. By this method, the reaction of urethanation explosively proceeds and the time for curing the coating can be notably cut because the optimum catalyst for the polyurethane coating can be selected without restriction and the catalyst in a highly concentrated state can be brought into contact with the polyurethane coating.

    Abstract: At least one caisson which is part or all of a breakwater forms a water chamber therein whose closure is a pendulum having a natural period in rocking or oscillating the same as a period of stationary wave surges caused in the water chamber by rocking movement of the pendulum owing to wave force impinging against the pendulum. At least one double-acting piston and cylinder assembly is connected to the pendulum, so that when a piston of the assembly is reciprocatively moved by the pendulum, pressure difference between cylinder chambers on both sides of the piston of the assembly controls a change-over valve which in turn controls hydraulic pressure discharged from the cylinder chambers to be supplied to a plurality of hydraulic motors respectively having accumulators of a type wherein accumulated pressure and volume of the hydraulic liquid are proportional to each other, whereby driving a common generator alternately by the hydraulic motors.

    Abstract: A resonant type apparatus for absorbing wave energy arranged at wave-breaking facilities, which comprises, a caisson having a bottom plate, side plates, a backside plate and a top plate at least a part of which is omitted. A water chamber in the caisson has a length in a directional parallel to the side walls which is larger than 1/4 of the wave length Lc of a stationary wave within the water chamber, and a node of the stationary wave in the water chamber is formed at a distance Lc/4 from the backside plate. A pendulum is arranged at the position of the node of the stationary wave for swinging with a natural period Tp which is substantially the same value as the natural period Tw of the stationary wave, whereby the pendulum is swung by the stationary wave to absorb and convert wave energy to useful available energy at high efficiency.

    Abstract: A semiconductor light-emitting device comprising a semiconductor substrate of GaAs and a crystal layer of Ga.sub.1-x Al.sub.x As formed by epitaxial growth on the semiconductor substrate. The x value in the crystal layer is gradually decreased in accordance with the development of the epitaxial growth. A light ray emitted from a light-emitting portion in the crystal layer is bent in accordance with the distribution of the x value, so that the light ray can reach a light-emitting surface of the crystal layer. According to the invention, a groove is provided on the surface of the crystal layer so that the light-launching efficiency is increased over that of the prior art.
