Patent number: 11356789Abstract: To enable channel setting to be performed easily and accurately to speakers. Thus, provided is a speaker system including: N number of speakers, the N being three or more; and a signal processing device capable of communicating with each speaker. The signal processing device performs processing of recognizing two arrangement reference speakers with reception of notification that a designation operation has been received from a user, from two speakers among the N number of speakers, and processing of acquiring distance information between each speaker. The signal processing device recognizes a relative-position relationship between the N number of speakers, with the two arrangement reference speakers and the distance information between each speaker. Then, the signal processing device automatically sets a channel to each speaker, on the basis of the relative-position relationship recognized.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2019Date of Patent: June 7, 2022Assignee: SONY CORPORATIONInventors: Tatsuya Tamaki, Yoshikazu Ohura, Kenji Yorimoto, Yosuke Samura

Patent number: 8599667Abstract: Disclosed herein is a multi-layer optical recording medium having n recording layers (n?3) in which recording and reproduction of information are carried out by laser light, the multi-layer optical recording medium including: a file system area configured to be disposed near a last logical address in an area used as a logical address space in which stream data is recorded, wherein in the other recording layers different from the recording layer in which the file system area near the last logical address is disposed, the logical address space is not allocated to an area overlapping with the file system area in a layer stacking direction.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2011Date of Patent: December 3, 2013Assignee: Sony CorporationInventor: Kenji Yorimoto

Patent number: 8325572Abstract: To provide a simple configuration capable of recording data on an optical disc reliably at high speed even if recording errors occur. Data that is normally recorded on the optical disc is erased from a storing means, and when a recording error has occurred, a predetermined range subsequent to the address at which the recording error has occurred is selected as a skip area, and this skip area is skipped to record the data stored in the storing means from a recording resume address of the optical disc. This makes it possible to avoid repetition of recording errors in the vicinity of the error-occurring location where the possibility of repeating errors is high. Data retransmission at the time of resuming recording can also be omitted to eliminate the time loss for retransmitting the data, and to reduce the storage space of the host unit necessary for storing the data to be retransmitted.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2007Date of Patent: December 4, 2012Assignee: Sony CorporationInventor: Kenji Yorimoto

Patent number: 7969842Abstract: A playback device includes a reading section that performs reading from a recording medium, and a control section that acquires the latest temporary management information recorded last on the recording medium. The control section executes a read control process of controlling the reading section so that when reading pointer information in a temporary management information unit recorded last in a temporary management information unit recording area, reading of data is executed from a predetermined position located before a segment in which the pointer information is included, and an information acquiring process of executing a process for acquiring the temporary management information pointed to by the pointer information from the data read in response to the read control process.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2008Date of Patent: June 28, 2011Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Masaaki Yamamoto, Atsushi Ishimaru, Kenji Yorimoto

Patent number: 7876658Abstract: An optical-disk device includes a record unit recording data onto an optical disk, and a management-information-record unit configured to additionally write the latest disk-management information about the optical disk in management-information-record areas provided on the optical disk. When a first area of the management-information-record areas is short of a vacant area used to additionally write the disk-management information, the management-information-record unit records padding data in an unrecorded area of the first area, and additionally writes the disk-management information in a second area of the management-information-record areas, and wherein when the first area includes an unrecordable area where the disk-management information can be additionally written with difficulty, the management-information-record unit stops additionally writing the disk-management information in the first area, and additionally writes the disk-management information in the second area.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2007Date of Patent: January 25, 2011Assignee: Sony CorporationInventor: Kenji Yorimoto
